Spy Shots: 2009 Mazda6 caught naked with new curves {Autoblog}

Apr 17th 2008 9:04AM Well - my mind is made up. Unless there is some dramatic difference in fuel economy or performance in the new 6, I'll buy previously loved 2006 or 2007 hatchback as my next car.

The new design is just not appealing enough. The only knocks I had against the old 6 was that it transmitted a lot of road noise with those low profile tires and big wheels, and the mileage on the 3.0L was lousy. Other than that, it was the most fun FWD car I've ever driven.

They should have saved the design cash and done some engineering to quiet it down and at least get some more bhp out of that 3.oL. Can anyone tell me if that 3.oL 6 is the same basic engine that powered countless Tauruses ?
