Chrysler kills rebadge of Dodge Journey to work on small car {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 3:13PM Seems to me that they would do well with a Chrysler version of this practical little box.
But on one condition: DIFFERENTIATE IT! Pitch it at a distinctly different customer. Make it markedly more luxurious.
Seems to me that ought to require fairly limited resources to do.
Rendered Speculation: 2012 Jaguar F-type {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 2:15PM WAY too much S2000 in the nose.
They need to build that gorgeous E-type they showed a few years back. So what if it's a tad retro. It's so Jaguar, it makes everything that came before it look like, well, just a wind-up.
Toyota Alphard gets facelift, Vellfire sibling {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 1:43PM Maybe they could use some new names to go with the sleek new styling?
Alphard and Vellfire?
They really don't translate well.
eBay Find of the Day: The Jerrari {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 12:44AM I'm old enough to remember this strange beast.
I guess the next thing on the horizon for me is Geritol.
Japanese firms working to make carbon fiber mainstream {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 10:49PM It doesn't shatter. It deflects, and (mostly) bounces back. On YouTube there's a crash test video of a McLaren M1 (if you can bear to see an M1 smashed). The car gives, squishes, and actually bounces back.
I heard also that an Aston Martin Vanquish dropped on its roof will bounce as its carbon fiber roof structure gives and pops back.
Spy Shots: Opel Insignia five-door hatch caught {Autoblog}
May 11th 2008 1:00PM Very pretty hind end on that sedan.
I wonder if Americans are maybe ready to accept hatchbacks again. I think they got a bad name in the gas-starved '70s, when people paid up for cheezy, ugly hatches like the Datsun B210.
But those days are far behind us. And hatchbacks are totally practical (I once moved a full-size sofa 180 miles in the back of my sister's '87 Saab 900).
Time for a comeback?
Judging the Tesla Roadster and Chevy Volt by different standards {Autoblog Green}
May 10th 2008 12:45AM Two of the first Teslas are being sold to Arnold Schwartenegger and George Clooney.
When Arnold Schwartenegger and George Clooney fly, they fly private jets.
That says a lot about the Tesla.

May 10th 2008 12:15AM Why does the UAW want to bleed their employers to death?
Can anyone explain that?
Prius wins JD Power award for highest consumer satisfaction in U.K. {Autoblog Green}
May 8th 2008 9:23PM Isn't that owner SELF-satisfaction?
That's generally what I've found about Prius owners - a very self-satisfied bunch.
