Pics aplenty: BMW M1 Hommage Concept {Autoblog}

Jul 23rd 2008 1:14PM Maybe it's just me, but the M1 looks like BMW contracted with the stylists over at HOT WHEELS to design what they think is a BMW sports car. This does not look like it came from the BMW design studios.

2009 Acura TL shows its face, AWD confirmed {Autoblog}

Jul 11th 2008 2:42PM All the enthusiasts voted - the shield/grill has to go.
What did Acura do? Make it three times as large.
I'm sure it drives great with the SH-AWD, BUT what does it weigh in this era of high gas prices?
Probably 4,000 lbs - way too heavy for me.

In the Autoblog Garage: 2009 Lincoln MKS {Autoblog}

Jul 7th 2008 3:28PM This car does not compete with the CTS. In person it is a very large car; probably competes with the DTS - which in that case it is very competitive.
Sure, is it as good as the BMW 7, M-Benz S-Class, Jag XF - probably not in the luxury car purists eyes, BUT it does costs a lot less and it is American, which still means a lot to many U.S. drivers.
You sit up high in this car, which many folks will want since they won't drive their Expeditions and Suburbans anymore due to high gas prices.

Officially Official: 2009 BMW 7 Series {Autoblog}

Jul 5th 2008 9:48PM I'm sure this will be one of the world's best luxury cars, if not the best, BUT the generic styling bits and pieces is BMW's version of "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic". Nothing new here, but I do like the extremely short front and rear overhangs.

Infiniti to get entry-level coupe based on Z {Autoblog}

Jun 20th 2008 1:10PM James, you may want to consider the IS250. It meets all your requirements except for:
4 doors (the 2 door is coming next year)
Needs premium gas.
Does not get 37 mpg - more like 33 to 34 mpg at 73 mph.

Infiniti to get entry-level coupe based on Z {Autoblog}

Jun 20th 2008 1:04PM "...while its big brother from Infiniti would get a V6 displacing 2.5 liters. "

What took them so long? The Lexus IS250 is fun to drive and gets great gas mileage. I know, I have one.

Officially, official: Ford to build Fiesta in Cuautitlán, Mexico, US gets hatch! {Autoblog Green}

Jun 2nd 2008 2:57PM Looks like the UAW has priced themselves out of about 3,000 jobs in the U.S. with an additional 15,000 support jobs in the locale of the plant. Oh well, a lot of Mexicans will be getting jobs such that less crossing the border into Texas or N.M. will be the likely result.

Rumormill? Infiniti G37 sedan coming in 2009 {Autoblog}

Jun 2nd 2008 2:49PM I do have the IS250, and driving around town (this does have about 50% interstate) my trip computer says 26.5 mpg. On trips, averaging 73 mph I regularly get 33 mpg.

Rumormill? Infiniti G37 sedan coming in 2009 {Autoblog}

Jun 2nd 2008 1:04PM Please, let's get with reality. Infinity needs a G27 a lot more than the G37. The Lexus IS250 has good acceleration (not explosive, like the IS350) and gets mid-20s mpg in town and mid-30s on the highway. There's demand for a smaller engine in the G. If the Infiniti management doesn't get with the program soon nobody will soon be able to afford to drive their cars.

Subaru RWD coupe will be sold worldwide, Toyota version only in Japan {Autoblog}

May 28th 2008 9:36AM For those wanting this model to weigh 800 lbs less than stated - you've got a long wait coming. It ain't gonna happen. All autos (due to safety regs.) have gotten overweight. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it, unless we buy a Lotus Exgige that has a fiberglass shell.
The car will be a big hit, but what's got me really interested in it is that there may be a possibility in a 4-door version being produced someday. It may be a low-priced competitor to the BMW 1 Series.
