Jul 24th 2008 4:27PM It reminds me of something like this car in this comic:

Powermat promises wireless power for the masses, delivers nothing {Engadget}

Jul 24th 2008 9:12AM I've heard rumors that a Volkswagen plant in Germany uses Tesla's style of wireless energy to power these diagnostic computers they push around the plant on carts. Supposedly they draw their power through the floor without having to stay on any sort of track. It could just be something someone made up though.

Also, wasn't Tesla's way of doing this by using resonance and not induction? It's been about a year since I last read about him and I my memory is starting to fade.

Nintendo loses another round in controller patent lawsuit {Engadget}

Jul 23rd 2008 4:23PM If I recall correctly, Nintendo said months ago that they were no longer selling Wavebirds. That's why you see some selling for over a hundred dollars on ebay.

One thing I'm curious about is, (let's say Nintendo loses the appeal and cannot sell these controllers anymore), would that mean video game resellers like Gamestop would not be allowed to sell the used controllers? If I had to guess I'd say they could.

Jul 18th 2008 4:23PM Aww man. I always liked the idea they had where some Fossil watches could sync with the SE handsets via bluetooth, and when a call would come in the caller ID info would appear on your watch. I'm sure I'm like, one of the ten people that feature appealed to, but I thought it would be a neat way to check your phone during a meeting without looking like a jerk.

Texas wind power initiative to blow other states away {Engadget}

Do you think they have volunteers building these new power lines? Even if they didn't increase their power bills by the proposed 4-5 dollars a month and paid for it with a big govt. subsidy then they'd probably increase taxes to cover that.

Nothing's free. But atleast we're paying our own companies instead of Riyahd.

HP Blackbird 002 Exhilaration Edition gets unboxed {Engadget}

Jul 18th 2008 9:11AM A guy I work with just bought one of these a couple weeks ago. I don't think it was this excact 'edition', but it was about $6,000. It's a beast, both in physical size and gaming performance. The really impressive thing about it IMO is that it runs whisper quiet.

Still.... that's a LOT of money. I think just about any Engadget reader could piece together a very good rig for half that cost.
