Autoweek drives the Nissan GT-R {Autoblog}

Oct 17th 2007 5:35PM @ Jeff Johnson:

You said you care about "weight, power and handling".
I have the feeling that the GT-R, as far as handling is concerned, will probably be one of the best cars (if not THE best) in the world especially considering the price tag, and most likely better than the Z06 (4wd is unbeatable for putting down power to the tarmac in the utmost efficient way).
As far as weight and power are concerned, sure you never have enough hp in a car and the lighter, the better. But you have to expect a certain trade-off in the power-to-weight ratio department, if a sports car offers you the advantage of 4wd and doesn't use light materials like the Corvette does (and to tell you the truth, I prefer having the feel of steel or aluminum around me, rather than fiberglass...).
And at the end, power & weight are negligeable, if a vehicle can manage to be faster than another one from point A to point B, and it looks like the GT-R WILL be faster than the Z06.

Finally, it's good to have opinions and likings (and in your case you seem to prefer the Z06 and while I love the Z06, I though prefer the GT-R).
I will take the vehicle that allows me to be faster in any given condition, never mind what its power-to-weight ratio is.

This is my $0.02

Mortgage the house! Audi announces U.S. RS 4 pricing {Autoblog}

Apr 14th 2006 1:33AM Oh boy...
Great car indeed but not for that price.
It costs a whopping 22k more than the S4...it costs the same as a Z06...and not THAT far away there is the BMW M5...
Well, I feel Audi USA has made an incredible mistake in pricing it this way...if the price would have been around 58/63k (basically 10k less), they would have made an impact in the market.
And before someone says that I am crazy or something like that for thinking about that price, consider that on average in Europe the premium for someone to buy a RS4 over the S4 is between 24 and 35 %, in the USA the premium is about 48 %. Someone is being greedy around here...
I am very disappointed, Audi should have done better...

VW to use Google Earth for the best in navigation technology {Autoblog}

Feb 3rd 2006 6:37PM @ Noah:
Ohhh...that was the greatest post ever, Noah, bravo !
You may stick to your 10$ paper map book, other people that live in the 21st century might use a nav. system and enjoy it (like myself: born and raised in another nation, in another continent, and now in the USA...). I hope it hasn't been too distressing for you to let go of your horse and carriage, it shouldn't have been. And trust me, it won't be as well when you let go of your paper map book: the 21st century and its technology it's mostly quite user-friendly, do not be afraid, kiddo.
One last thing, mr. genius, does it seem to you appropriate to be meddling with a map when you are driving ? Concentrate and the answer will magically appear in your brain. It doesn't ? Well let me answer for you then: NO !
Go get a life and a bit of self esteem (you seem so much concerned about people laughing at this or that, are you THAT insecure as a person ???), good luck.

Pony Poll Winner! {Autoblog}

Jan 13th 2006 12:26PM @ notsurprising:
don't be a paranoid, no one hates GM, it just shows that all in all people that voted for this poll, liked the Challenger a little better.
I voted for the Challenger as well, because it looks better, it's already looking like she is ready for production, while the Camaro so far it's only an exercise in style and a bit too cartoonish for me.
Now I hope DCX will produce the Challenger (and that GM will do the same for the Camaro, hopefully retaining the core looks of this car, just a bit more on the realistic side though...) as I really want to buy one asap.
