VIDEO: Fabulous footage of fabric-covered BMW GINA Light Visionary Model {Autoblog}
Jun 12th 2008 10:25PM Sure did, clear up through WW2 - the Hawker Hurricane, the fighter that *really* won the Battle of Britain, had a fuselage completely covered in fabric, and most planes of the era at least had fabric-covered control surfaces.
I think this is a pretty ingenious idea and a great way to save weight without resorting to carbon fiber. Since it's not the metal body panels that protect you in a crash, it's no less safe either.
This one's for the gals: the top 10 cars for women that'll make a guy's head turn {Autoblog}
Dec 30th 2007 6:12PM Funny, it was only last week I took another look at a girl driving an R32. I don't know if that just means I'm easily distracted, or what, but apparently it makes me abnormal in some way.
Really, any girl driving a performance car - even if it's just a performance-modded Celica or something - deserves a second look to determine if it's her car or her boyfriend's. If it's hers, she gets a third look. Heh.

Enthusiast starts petition to save the PT Cruiser {Autoblog}
Aug 23rd 2007 4:42AM "HOWEVER, as a real world car, the PT is great. it seats 4 in comfort, the A/C blows ice cold on hot carolina summer days, you can REMOVE both rear seats in about 2 minutes, they fold every which way - we can haul more stuff in our PT Cruiser than in our Dakota."
All of those things apply to my living room, too, but it sure doesn't make my living room a good car. Of course, my living room probably handles better...
And.... ACTION! Ford partners with film company for product placement {Autoblog}
Aug 7th 2007 9:42PM It's a movie where half the cast are cars - you had to expect product placement in there.
Besides, it's gotta be a better use of advertising dollars than NASCAR. At least when someone rolls up in a Fusion in a movie, it's actually a Fusion, not a shell with chrome decals.
Toledo cops begin selling ads on police cruisers {Autoblog}
Jul 4th 2007 4:34PM So, what, is Toledo the only city in Ohio not making all its money through traffic stops? I've never seen so many speed cops as I did when I drove through the state last.
KAPOW! Caped Crusader Camaro packs a visual punch {Autoblog}
Jun 14th 2007 2:37AM In its own twisted way, this is actually kinda cool - aside from that rear wing, of course. I mean, really - bat spinners? At least it's not boring.
Besides, everything can be undone with a new paint job and a couple filled bolt-holes. That's certainly more than you can say about most low-rider Impalas, or god forbid those poor old Caddies that get jacked up and mounted atop 30" wheels.
Ford's Wixom plant heads to the great assembly line in the sky {Autoblog}
Jun 2nd 2007 6:50PM You're reading too much into this. That wasn't a PR stunt. They just put a recall out on the "M," and she was installing the new one. "Quality is job 1!"
