Dodge Challenger approved for production! {Autoblog}

Jun 30th 2006 11:18AM Actually the General Lee was a Charger, not a Challenger.
I guess the four doors took the confederate out of that car?

Euro Civic three-door breaks cover before British auto show {Autoblog}

Jun 27th 2006 9:34AM Often smaller cars have more, not less legroom. My Neon 2 door (don't make fun) was one of the most stretched out cars I have been in. It was one of the few cars that I did not have to put the seat all of the way back. Much more legroom than a Tahoe or many other large cars.

Doesn't this Civic remind you of the last model Saturn SC2 Quad Coupe?

Ford confirms fresh content for Mustang every year {Autoblog}

Jun 23rd 2006 12:35PM DJ,

A Mach One would need more than 285 horsepower considering the base GT has 300 in the V-8. The Mach designation is meant to be a superior powered car.

I'd like to see the base model get the new 3.5L, which woul dbe an improvement over the German made 4.0L's 200 hp and then see the GT's 4.6L V-8 have an increase in horsepwer to compete with upcoming cars.

The 6 speed manual is pretty irrelevant unless the auto goes 6 speed, which it probably will.

OH and BTW, Paul's post is on point on his own blog and Kyle is a moron.

I remember a friend who had an older Integra and was bragging about how is car could have 250 horsepower if he dropped a super charger into it and then he could beat mustang 5.0's Well, maybe - but if the 5.0 had a supercharger too, it could have about 450 hp, for a lot less money and far more durablity. Plus the Integra is still fwd.

Jun 23rd 2006 10:11AM So let me get this straight. California makes a law that all major automakers must build zero emission vehicles by a specific date that long since passed. California later rescinds or changes said law due to how hard it is to make viable electric cars.

GM is the only major company that meets the initial challenge and sells electric cars (lease) to the general public, yet it's their fault the electric car industry died? Wouldn't it be the fault of every other car maker, all of which did not step up to the plate?

The EV1 might not have had a ton of range, but contrary to common belief, it had a range that would meet many people's needs.

I look forward to the electric car. Imagine having a continuous-duty motor, with maximum horsepower available at any rpm, all without shifting. Very fast.

Discovery Times to air "Addicted to Oil" documentary {Autoblog}

Jun 21st 2006 1:39PM Ug. Please Discovery, don't give that jackass more air time.

If he is so clueless about the many obstacles in the way of the U.S. auto industry succeeding, (its not just mileage stupid) how can we trust him on other subjects?

Jun 21st 2006 9:23AM I find it funny that everyone syays that car companies should make their interiors like Audi. I haven't seen an Audi with more than 30,000 miles on it that doesn't have some sort of trim or fabric coming apart on the interior. It looks good in the showroom, but doesnt seem to hold up.

Jun 20th 2006 2:09PM "Its kinda like GM revived the El Camino and put 4 doors on it. The styling is bad enough to make me think that too."

The El Camino had a more powerful engine and a bigger bed. Even though it was probably more of a truck than the Ridgeline, it didn't pretend to be a truck.

The fact that the Ridgeline doesn't come in 2wd shows its fwd car roots. The platform it's built on would have to be fwd in order to be 2wd. A truck that carries any bit of weight in the back must have power to the rear wheels.

Jun 20th 2006 9:21AM "Who makes a 5 cylinder? Honestly?"

Audi and Toyota used to
Honda made one for motorcycles
VW does
Volvo does
GM now does
I am sure other people here can add more.

Dodge Challenger production decision by fall {Autoblog}

Jun 19th 2006 6:19PM If they say no to it, its because the market is about to be saturated with too many muscle cars. Once a certain groups buys 100,000 Camaros and 125,000 Mustangs (if both is possible) there is not much left over for the MOPAR. Its not like they sold a ton of Challengers in the 70's in the first place.
