eBay Find of the Day: Party on with Garth's AMC Pacer "Mirthmobile" {Autoblog}

New York 2008: Suzuki unveils Kizashi 3 concept, coming in 2010 [w/VIDEO] {Autoblog}

Mar 20th 2008 1:14PM Keep up the good work Suzuki. I was afraid you'd tone this model down too much. Glad to hear you might sell the Kizashi here in the US. Just don't forget to include the wagon model. (That's the one I want) There's plenty of great looking coupes on the market, but few wagons. Don't mess with the concept lines too much, as that's primarily what's getting peoples attention to begin with. Forget the damn focus groups, don't tone the attention grabbing properties just to move a couple extra units (ala Big 4). If you build it they will come.

BTW, Lexus...take a hint from Suzuki and use the LS460-eque tailpipes as on the Kizashi. The IS-F looks far too ricey with those quad stacked oval. I sell the things and people really can't get over this staggering visual flaw.

Eco tires: good for the environment, bad for safety? {Autoblog}

Nov 22nd 2007 10:25AM Good work tire companies! Not only have you managed to increase fuel economy, you've managed through reduced stopping distance, which in turn actually eliminates the number of cars on the road! This has to be good for the environment...right?

The thing I've always loved about "greenies" is that their comittment to their cause always seems to overide their sense of self preservation. Darwinism in action I'd like to call it. I guess that's why the lefties are always trying to make us accept Darwinism. Then their suicidal behavoiur would seem a litle less odd... :)

Frankfurt 2007: Suzuki Kizashi arrives, but details on it do not {Autoblog}

Sep 11th 2007 7:58PM This car is seriously BOSS! Build it Suzuki! Trust me. Not too many people would purchase a car on looks alone. So far that's the concensous I'm getting on this message board, and this is probably the biggest and toughest group of critics assembled. You got a hit here and you don't know how hard that is to achieve.

But, for the car to work it has to look JUST LIKE this car! Keep the accountants, focus groups and engineers away from this body!

Diesel and AWD are absolutely welcome. Just make sure this car has some power to go with its looks!

Hybrid concept has only one horse {Autoblog}

Sep 2nd 2007 12:08AM Stupid freaking hippies. They think they are so smart. Explain to me how in the world this is an improvement over the near-zero-maintenance horse-powered vehicles that have existed for several millenia. Horse drawn carriage/cart anyone??? Hello??? Retards...

First 25 RED ONE cameras ship {Engadget}

Sep 1st 2007 11:52PM No I'm not a O-Review member. Took a glace at the website but it was really more about glasses than clothing.

Oakley makes some of the best clothing. Their shoes are what got me into the brand. Oakley shoes are bar-none the best in the industry. (Too bad they axed the shoe line...at least in retail stores....too hard to stock all the types, colors and sizes for such small stores). Tons of proprietary materials and technology in everything shoe and piece of clothing they make. The vulcanized tire rubber soles(similar compounds to those found top performing F1 tires) they use on a good bulk of their shoes and sandals yield years and years of daily use with minimal wear. I could probably get 6 years of daily wear out of just 1 pair, the soles are just that good.

The clothes are perfect attire for developers/IT/engineering types (business casual). Any geek with a hint of fashion sense would agree...if they only knew the clothing line existed.

As far as the 60/40 split. That was true a while ago. I'm not sure about now with the takeover. Anything Jannard said since the takeover has been nothing but lip-service (I think fans of the man would pickup on his true feelings by the choice of words he's employed since then pretty easily).

Having majority stake doesn't mean you always get your way. Jim works with the shareholders rather than against them. Wish our Rhino of a president could be a little more like Jannard.

Sep 1st 2007 11:13PM z0iid- (Among others who think Oakleys are nothing more than clever marketing) Just because a brand has clever marketing, doesn't mean their designs are merely a product of such.

Do some research. Oakley has a higher ratio of engineers than most technology giants. The level of technology developed and used by Oakley would give any serious geek a sticky wet-dream. Read this amazing and inspiring article (written in 1999) by Wired magazine.

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/7.12/oakley.html

And Oakley has come along way since then....

I hold has much respect for Jim Jannard as I do geeks like Dean Kamen.

Sep 1st 2007 10:20PM Mr Vileta. While I'm in accordance with you in that Luxotica will no doubt effect Oakley in negative ways, you and everyone else who are upset at Jarred, have your anger directed at the wrong person.

Oakley is a PUBLIC company. Jarred is on record (google: oakley wired interview) saying that taking his company public was the worst mistake he every made. Jarred lost a great deal of control in his company as soon as it went public. Don't blame him, blame the stockholders that trump him on a fairly regular basis and will continue to do so.

There's no bigger fan of Oakley than myself. I don't stop at the sunglasses. My entire wardrobe, including shoes is Oakley. I love their sense of style and over engineering. But I also understand how business works and that all good things come to an end...

Top Gear burns! Props destroyed {Autoblog}

Aug 15th 2007 5:35PM I'm going out on a limb and assuming this is the work of eco-terrorists like ELF (earth liberation front). Like most eco-freaks, whoever did this doesn't realize the total sum of impact their actions have.

First, environmental. Think of all greenhouse gases and other enviromentally damaging wastes were produced as the result of this fire. I for one hope that they find out who is responsible. Your typical campfire puts out more bad stuff than running your your car for...(someone do the environ-math for me please).

Second, like any good eco-freak this group has proven that they are in fact, nothing more than are intolerant facists. They want their cause to be heard, but will stop at nothing to squelch those who aren't in lock-step with your beliefs. A REAL environmentalist would argue their beliefs scientifically (but will still loose the arguement :D), yet will AND welcome the Clarksons opinions as free-speech as part of the debate. These folks have done nothing except they are no better than your average run of the mill terrorist.

Third, these eco-mentalists have given Clarkson and staff a legitimate reason to go after them legally and hopefull expose them for the uneducated childish idiots they are. 1) The Top Gear staff have been physically threatened. This is no different from a death threat. If these guys are found, their actions carry the same weight as death threat. Top Gear staff should demand Federal (or whatever the UKs equavalent to the level is) attention to the issue as well as round the clock protection (At tax payer expense) from these punks until they are found. 2) These guys have brought on a form financial hardship and therefore a created the grounds that Clarkson and crew can go after them for every penny these kids (or their indirect sponsors) are worth.

I really hope this get Clarkson to stop dicking around with newpaper columns and challenges (both of which I enjoy emmensely) and create a massive documentary series (something at least a long as the "Speed" series), that counteracts the eco-mentalists points (like those in an Inconvinient Truth) but larger and with actual science backing it (something the Inconvinient Truth lacks entirely).

You always had the ammo Clarkson, now you got the reason, go get those punks and shut their mouth once and for all. We're counting on you!

Oh....any by the way...the UK needs some common sense and alot of it! Clarkson for Prime Minister!
