Markup Much? Dealer demands $155k for Shelby GT500KR {Autoblog}

May 19th 2008 11:18AM As a dealer I struggle with this everytime there is a "hot" vehicle. But I always let the market take care of it. The market is never wrong. As the one with millions invested, how is it fair that I sell it for stricker only to have the buyer flip it on ebay? The only (if not well liked) answer is that it is not. Let the market figure out selling prices....

May 6th 2008 5:22PM Oh that's beautiful. I wonder if the nose/wing assy is now on ebay?

Mulally's replacement could come from within Ford... or maybe not {Autoblog}

Mar 24th 2008 12:06PM As a Ford dealer, I am very happy with Mullaly. In the event of his departure (which I am not hoping for any time soon) I would like to see Farley. Fields is a good lieutenant but has had a bit of a checkered past the couple years. Stops and starts and not a cohesive plan until Mullaly came. Farley knows what he is doing and brings the energy and passion that is needed.

AFA takes credit for sales slump at Ford {Autoblog}

Oct 3rd 2007 1:55PM I am a Ford dealer. I had a cousin die of AIDS a few years ago. So although I don't promote the gay lifestyle, I have had the ramifications of being gay it's consequences touch my life. When I started getting random e-mails from the AFA Nazi's condeming Ford I told them to take a hike. I didn't need their business nor want it. There is enough hate in this world. And, as far as I'm concerened, Ford is free to choose how they advertise. What did the AFA do? They targeted me. They dug up old pictures of me from my local paper. They posted them along with my address/phone number etc. I was worried that some fanatic might get in his junker and come looking for me or my family. That is when I truly understood the depths of ignorance and intolerance. It is a very scary thing.
I stand by Ford and hope that they continue to ignore the lunatic fringe.

Mulally makes it official: Next Focus and Fusion based on global platforms {Autoblog}

Aug 23rd 2007 4:01PM As a Ford dealer who's livelyhood (and those of many others) depends on Ford vehicles, I can say with complete certaintly that I couldn't give two hoots about the 3 bar grill. I can sell the Fiesta if it looks like this. Please don't muck it up. This will be the first real test of the Mulally regime....
A note to US designers- quite being so inflexible. This isn't about you. It's about people will buy and they will buy this car!

New York Preview: Production Fairlane renamed Flex, will debut in New York with suicide doors (possibly)! {Autoblog}

Mar 22nd 2007 5:26PM I'm a Ford dealer and I agree with the name Flex. Fairlane does not fit in this segment and if another name came down the pipe starting with "Free" or "Wind" I was going to shoot myself. So this works for me very well. I just want it this year please.

The Taurus reborrn! Ford may dump Five Hundred name {Autoblog}

Feb 6th 2007 11:39AM Face it...we who frequent this board are hyper-sensitive to anything new or different in the automotive world. We are 2% of the car buying public. When Joe Average walks into a Ford store next year and gets introduced to the "new" Taurus he won't have a clue (nor will he care) what it really is or where it came from. I think this is genius and just might work.

The Taurus reborrn! Ford may dump Five Hundred name {Autoblog}

Feb 6th 2007 10:07AM Well...I believe this is Mr. Mulally's influence. He was quoted as saying last fall that the 500 should have been the Taurus all along (which is logical but logic is not one of Ford's strengths). I think he is righting the typical Ford wrongs one at a time. This is just a little more public than most.

Ford's Mulally to sell cars at US dealership {Autoblog}

Feb 5th 2007 4:38PM Ahh..the pessimists are back. This is no stunt. My understanding is that Mr. Mulally was so available during the annual NADA event, that when one Ford dealer put him on the spot about selling cars he said "done". I applaud him for doing it. That he didn't do it according to the schedule of the perpetually cynical......well too f'in bad. Alan is the real deal and he has made more progress opening up Ford in 5 months than Bill Jr. ever did. Ford is on their way back....

Shelby working on convertible GT-H for this summer? {Autoblog}

Feb 4th 2007 5:15PM Guy,
You are truly an arrogant SOB. You have all of Ford's problems solved. Wow...I guess Mr. Mulally should cede his CEO position to you. Ford is capitalizing on a proven seller. And working on either bring in or developing all new vehicles that people will want to buy. Your senseless Ford bashing is juvenile and pathetic. I am rooting for Ford to succeed while you are obviously taking great joy in others pain. The future will prove you wrong.
