In the Autoblog Garage: 2008 Porsche Cayman S {Autoblog}

Jul 16th 2008 1:11PM I disagree on the shifting being "surgical". If anything, I found it notchy and a little vague. My Honda Fit Sport has much better shift feel as did my S2000. The clutch could be lighter and engage a little better too. Perhaps you test car was a little more broken in?

Subaru worried that RWD coupe could dilute brand {Autoblog}

Apr 22nd 2008 3:05PM Subaru - AWD boxer 4
Toyota - RWD inline 4

Come on! People are not stupid! It will be a rebadged Toyota no matter how you market it unless Subie uses AWD and a boxer 4......

Redesigned Mazda5 coming to Bologna Motor Show {Autoblog}

Dec 3rd 2007 3:05PM I have to say the reason why I purchased this car is because of the "zoom zoom" factor. This is the ONLY minivan on the market that drives like a good sport sedan. it is just the right size, brakes with the best of them, has reasonable power and get s great gas mileage. We trded our Subie Outback which has zero driving character, bulky shifter and mushy brakes. Not too mention not much room inside...so on the contrary, the Mazda5 does indeed generate enthusiasm amongst true drivers.

Outrage expressed over Harry Connick Jr.'s Lincoln ad {Autoblog}

Nov 15th 2007 10:27AM The ad portrays New Orleans in a positive light which it badly needs. If these means it offends all the people in New Orleans who chose not to work for a living, the corrupt police force, the criminals, the illegals, then it is certainly a brilliant ad. Are these the type of people who could afford this vehicle. NO....cheers to Ford by letting the rest of America know that New Orleans is not a ghetto but a prosperous diverse city whose people aspire to driving a $30k plus vehicle rather than waiting for their government handout and blaming their woes on Bush. Do you think they would have sold the car with a crack whore behind the drivers seat or a successful musician who actually gives back to his community.

BMW 1-Series coupe Euro-pricing slips, foretells U.S. MSRP? {Autoblog}

Sep 6th 2007 1:39PM I can't believe it will be that expensive. It kind of defeats the purpose of an "entry level" BMW. One big mistake is offering 2 6 cylinders. ....keep it light and cheap and stick a nice 4 banger with a turbo. Now that would honor the 2002tii!!

Would VW leave the US market? {Autoblog}

Jul 18th 2007 3:50PM The Jetta re-design was a visual disappointment. People want a German car to look German and not like a Toyota. Unfortunately the average person looks at style first before even taking a test drive. If it does not attract interest then you have lost before even entering the field. Unfortunately the Jetta can get pricey as well. VW should be smarter on content thus saving the consumer from sticker shock....The Passat suffers from much of the same. I don't like being forced into option packages especially with the stupid satellite radio nonsense. Just give me a Passat with the 6 cylinder and a stick and don't charge me $30K. I don't want a nav, leather, satellite radio and an umbrella in my door. I want a proper German driver's car. "Driver's car wanted"....oh, and I want it as reliable as a Honda!

Is Toyota preparing to purchase Fuji Heavy outright? {Autoblog}

Apr 12th 2007 3:34PM From a pure business standpoint, this will be really good for Subaru. Toyota knows how to run a company. The key is to leave the Subaru product alone and let a Subaru be a Subaru. We have all seen what happened when GM started making GM engineered Saabs; we ended up with Swedish branded Chevy Malibus......

Saturn Aura named Most Washable Car of 2007 {Autoblog}

Mar 26th 2007 2:59PM Those dirty brushes touching the car make my skin crawl! If you truly care for your car don't bring it through a car wash unless nothing touches it....

What would you pay for a C30? Volvo's interested. {Autoblog}

Mar 26th 2007 10:30AM $0.00.....it needs all wheel drive...

Canada's new budget will add $4,000 tax to SUVs {Autoblog}

Mar 21st 2007 3:26PM Wow, talk about socialism. It is pretty unfair for the people who need an SUV to tow a trailer, boat or motorhome. I can't stand the people who buy SUV's as a commuter vehicle or a so called status symbol but it should always be a choice and the government should never punish people for that. When the Libs get wind of this I am sure they will try to push similar legislation through congress.
