Nov 18th 2008 2:50PM Can't agree with you more. With economy in shambles, I think a lot of corporate sponsors, billionare investors and governments of developing nations will pull out of F1 sponsorship next season. Similar thing is already happening in NASCAR where many corporate sponsors have stopped renewing their advertising deals. http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/8800550/NASCAR-is-about-to-face-some-tough-times

Nov 8th 2008 12:01AM You know... the president of America is still good ol George Dubya until Jan 20th. I mean, he just got elected like two days ago and you are already criticizing him for a plan that didn't even happen yet. Give the man some time to prove before start bashing.
Sprint now facing $1.2 billion class-action suit over early termination fees {Engadget}
Nov 7th 2008 6:05AM Yeah that bastards extended my contract without informing me when I came back from foreign holiday. I had about 10 months left in my 2-year contract and when I came back, they started a brand new 2-year one. I ultimately had to get out of Sprint after a year and had to pay for $200 fee. How do I get involved in this?

Oct 23rd 2008 7:56AM Well, usually I'm against F1 having homogenate engine and chassis like NASCAR and IRL in North America. However, in the past few years, Ecclestone and co. has been pushing for cost cutting measures like single tyre supplier, single electronics supplier and now rumored single engine supplier in 2010. If they are serious with cost cutting in F1, then why don't they allow customer cars to compete?

I don't know where you get your facts, but I received my 16Gb unit WITH ENGRAVING last Wednesday, about 1 week after Jobs announced. Well, I ordered it on Wednesday, so it took about 5 business days to get here. With shipping and handling considered (shipped from China), it would mean that the unit was well under production before the announcement was made. Putting products into mass production takes time, and I think Apple planned for this for more than a couple of weeks.

Aug 24th 2008 2:04AM Wow. You worked on 93!
I worked on the batteries for Momentum in 05.. We used Li-ion and each pack was about $5000 to make, much less than Ag-Zn.

AMD reports Q2 results: $1.2B loss, quitting handheld and digital television businesses {Engadget}
Jul 17th 2008 10:55PM It's simple: their product isn't as good as their competetor's (Intel)
In the early 2000s, AMD gained large marketshare from Intel with their high performance chips. With higher revenue, they should have invested more on R&D and come up with new products. Instead, they spent that money on buying other companies that wasn't related to their core business. These acquisitions brought new problems to the management (dealing with shareholders, taking care of new employees, etc.), which ultimately made them less focused on their core business. Intel, meanwhile, was developing new products with better performance and it resulted in regaining the market share once lost to AMD.
Ultimately, AMD will never die off. Intel won't let that happen to avoid antitrust regulations. But unless they do something, their business will shrink down even further.
