Le Mans front row full of Audi R10s {Autoblog}
Jun 16th 2006 10:49AM The question isn't going to be engine durability, but gearbox durability. Those engine produce serious torque, which no production racing gearbox can even touch. The oil burner will require less shifting than the R8 around the course though.
The Official Autoblog 'First Car' Readership Survey {Autoblog}
Apr 17th 2006 12:58PM With what four-wheeled conveyance did you first declare your freedom? The first car that was in my name was an 1986 Chevy Nova. 60hp stock, but I put a K&N air filter on it, so figure 70hp. ;-) It had rust holes so big you could put your hand though the car. It was fun to drive because you had to drive it 100% at all times to keep up with traffic.
How did you come to acquire it? Why did you decide that it was the car/truck for you? It was a cheap $600 car from my dad's coworker.
How long did you own it? 3 years
Any particularly powerful memories (good or bad) tied to the vehicle in question? (Keep it PG-13, kiddies)
I was driving back to Purdue with all four windows down, and the headliner exploded causing a bunch of old foam bits to rain in the interior. I about put the car off the road when I could get the strips of cloth off my face. I carried emergency scissors in case the rest of the ceiling decided to fail.
One day my mom decided to borrow it. She didn't realize the key wasn't needed to start or stop it. When she got to work, she removed the key to find the car was still running. She called me two hours later to ask me what she should do about it. It was nice being able to loan out the car w/o handing off keys.
The car came with a random tire in the trunk. I used it when I got a flat. Each tire was from a different Mfg, and I didn't recognize a single one of them.
What ever happened to it? I traded it in for $800 (note the profit) on my mustang. I pulled into the dealership convinced it wouldn't start up. So, I left the dealership as quickly as possible. The salesman thought I was just having fun in my new car. Hhahaha
The car was found abandoned on the highway a year later. The sheriff sent me a letter because they thought I still owned it.
Any pangs of loss at parting with it, or just sheer relief? I miss being able to park where ever i want. I mean where ever! I could leave it running with the doors open in front of Target while I shopped for an hour, and the car would be there when I get back.

Ferrari 599GTB - Official photos and specs {Autoblog}
Jan 10th 2006 11:24AM Ok, I'll do the math 2.6kg to hp - so 620 * 2.6 = 1612kg * 2.2 lb/kg = 3546lbs. That's much better than the 575. It's still a bit portly, but getting better Ferrari. Audi and Ferrari make the heaviest light cars ever.
