Camaro performance and appearance accessories revealed {Autoblog}
Sep 22nd 2008 3:25PM Yeah that's really riced out but at the same time their really isn't anything wrong with that because the Camaro isn't retro. But in my opinion I don't like much of these upgrades. The ability to change the interior trim color is a nice touch, the hockey stick stripe and blade spoiler are also nice. But those wheels and that HUGE wing are ridiculous looking.

Jul 19th 2008 4:05AM Hard to believe you can brand this car king of the muscle cars when not even GM itself refers the Camaro as a Muscle car. They don't even like the term "Retro". The Camaro seems to be more of a sports car to fit under the Corvette if you ask me. I bet they'll even keep it underpowered so that it doesn't step in the Vette's toes.

Jul 19th 2008 3:58AM "By the way, the Challenger SRT-8 beats the Bullitt by .3 seconds 0-60 in the comparison. How can you say the SRT-8 wastes the Bullitt for .3 seconds, but the GT500 doesn't waste the SRT-8 for .4 seconds?
(http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=125968)"
I was wondering who wrote that article, I couldn't remember who it was. And yes you're right, so the Challenger doesn't waste the Bullitt in that sense, nor does the GT500 waste the Challenger. To look at it another way, the Challenger fits in between the Bullitt and GT500. However that article does state that although the Challenger is taller, longer and wider than the Mustang, it still out handled it on the road and on the track.
It's also a good point that the Camaro and Challenger really shouldn't be compared to an older car that will just be getting replaced in the coming months right. However as far as I know no specifications to the new 5.0 has been released so it's hard to compare to that. but so far it's clear that the Mustang will continue to use a live axle, whereas both the Camaro and Challenger have their IRS. They should be able to out handle the Mustang easy.

Jul 18th 2008 8:04PM Actually the Challenger did waste the Bullet Mustang. And versus the GT500, that's naturally aspiration versus supercharged. And the 500 HP supercharged Mustang was only .4 seconds faster in 0-60. If you wanted to even out that fight by giving the Challenger a supercharger, then we'd see who wins: The Challenger, and by a lot more than .4 seconds.

Jul 18th 2008 6:30PM The new Challenger's interior may be a little plain but this interior is just too busy. I don't like the way the radio bulges out like that. It's not very aftermarket friendly. The steering wheel is pretty good, which is my only real problem with the Challenger's interior. I mean it already has the same basic look as the other LXs but they shaped it ever so slightly to at least make it not an exact copy, but with that LX steering wheel they fail.
The Camaro's gauges are OK. They're better than I expected them to be. I really don't like that shifter though. The Challenger's modern pistol grip shifter definitely wins that comparison.
Exterior wise the Camaro is brilliantly done. Though I am a little bugged by the reverse light placement. They just look like they were just kind of stuck there at the last minute with no real thought to them. But that's a minor gripe. The rest of it is beautiful.
Personally I'd rather have a Challenger. Yes she's fat, but she's not to be underestimated either. Motor Trend managed to get her to 173 MPH slowing only to turn and in all the videos and magazines I've seen they say she handle great. I just can't wait until these two road warriors take it to the track. Screw the Mustang... IMO, the Camaro and Challenger are much more interesting.

Jul 17th 2008 10:32PM I love this car. It's one of the better looking Ferraris I've seen in a while. It's not exactly retro but still faithful to the original. And it's a lot better looking than the Enzo. I mean the Enzo is wicked fast but not the best looking car in the world... IMO.

Jul 10th 2008 2:35PM Actually the nation was founder on "Freedom". As in the freedom to choose your religion. Why else do you believe the pilgrims left England because they were tired of following the English church.

New York '08 Preview: 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP packs 402 HP... and a third pedal! {Autoblog}
Mar 15th 2008 4:50AM It's OK I guess. But it's .1 liter above a 6.1 HEMI and puts out 23 HP less. The GT compared to the R/T has more HP, so why doesn't the GXP have more HP than the SRT? I mean the GT beat the R/T in several tests but at this rate it seems the SRT will still be on top. However with a manual transmission the GXP still has the Charger beat. Here's hoping SRT pays attention and puts the Six Speed Manual from the Challenger into the Charger.
