Sep 11th 2006 5:41PM thanks for the complements, let me try to respond to some specific points:
#3: Oddly enough, even though the Z had moved very far from the purist sports car that was the 240Z, more Z’s were sold in 1984 than any other year up until that point. You can argue that Nissan was simply responding to the market- and it worked for a while until the cars got too expensive…
#4: Please post pics of your teacher, thanks.
#5: Yes- actually all Z31’s with digital dashboards talk. “Bitching Betty” says: Left Door is open, right door is open, parking brake is on, fuel level is low, and lights are on.
8 & 9: The conduit is not stock. I believe it houses wires that connect the bodysonic seats with my aftermarket radio (including amp). The factory amp was bypassed when they installed the aftermarket radio- not exactly sure why this was need (lazy, dumb installer?) Now the intensity of my bodysonic seats is relative to the volume and bass settings on the radio- the control knobs no longer work on my car. You can turn the body sonic seats off with an aftermarket switch that was also installed. I was only 18 (in 1996) when it was installed I didn’t know any better… If I could do it all over again, I would have fixed the stock radio (tape deck broke). I still have it (and the original factory amp) so maybe one day I’ll turn everything back to bone stock…. Also steering wheel radio controls don’t work with the aftermarket radio… all well…
11# well done on the firebird reference
12#- first off, your post was funny as hell, nicely done. Believe me, I wish that the car was bone stock- that’s much more my style- I do have a 350Z that is bone stock save rubber aftermarket floormats. But this is how my car was when I bought it, and I never really wanted to spend the money putting it back to stock. I guess I have grown to love how cheesy some parts of this car is – particularly the pinstripes- and I enjoy it for what it is….
