What happens when you get pinched going over 100 MPH {Autoblog}

Mar 5th 2009 8:43PM I demand a new title on this blog post. It has nothing to do with 100+ speeds - it's just general speeding ticket advice. I want to know about special rules that may or may not exist above 100 or there shouldn't be an arbitrary "ooo now it's especially bad" speed threshold.

Mar 5th 2009 8:40PM @Justin: "In Germany there is no speed limit on the highway (only advisory limits)."

I dunno, the last time I was there, there were speed limits (often on electronic signs varying speed limits to match traffic congestion) on the Autobahn save for a few patches of unrestricted roadway.

Spy Shots: Mysterious Chevy small car spied testing {Autoblog}

Mar 5th 2009 7:29PM Putting two and two together here, maybe since it's testing in Europe and there are plenty of good small cars available in Europe, they decided not to sell the US-market crap-tastic Aveo there and give them a good Aveo?

Mulally chooses Escape Hybrid for D.C. road trip {Autoblog}

Dec 2nd 2008 10:43AM The Escape is screwed together in the US by the UAW. The Fusion is screwed together in Mexico.

When you're going to Washington to ask Democrats for money, you show up in a car your union backers and your American-jobs-ers will like.

Ford Australia saves jobs and inline-6 with big investment {Autoblog}

Nov 21st 2008 11:54AM "Considering how the Pontiac G8 is selling in the States, I doubt Ford will be inspired to sell the Falcon in the States."

But Ford already has a rear-drive sedan in its (fleet) lineup that could do with a replacing but if they do bring the Falcon here, they really should drop the name Crown Victoria. And if Ford's selling a car as nice as the Falcon in fleet volume here, you may as well sell it to regular folks, too.

A GM mistake with the G8 is not selling a version as a Chevy or selling it exclusively as a Chevy. Police departments and taxi companies would be snapping up a rear-drive Impalas faster than they are the front-drive cars. And the folks who are buying the current FWD Impala probably wouldn't care all that much if a six cylinder motor were turning their rear wheels today instead of the front.

Hot or Not? 2011 Chevy Volt {Autoblog}

Sep 8th 2008 3:24PM The car looks sufficiently like space car and tech-y to get at the image-conscious types that the Prius is doing so well with.

Not a bad looking car at all. I don't like it in that color but I suppose since it's an eco-car, the first press shots need to be painted in some sort of sea foam future green metallic.

Maybe you should think in gallons-per-mile instead of MPG {Autoblog}
