Alfa may buy closed factory from Big 3 for U.S. production {Autoblog}
Mar 31st 2008 3:59PM Case New Holland is NOT owned by Alfa; it is owned by the Fiat Group.
Alfa is a subsidiary of the renamed "Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A" - just as Lancia, Fiat Professional, Maserati and the Fiat brand are.
Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A itself is a subsidiary of the Fiat Group -- which means that Fiat Group Automobiles, S.p.A and Case New Holland are both subsidiaries of the larger Fiat Group.
Alfa Romeo releases the new Mi.To {Autoblog}
Mar 14th 2008 11:46AM Cheers Noah. Always happy to contribute - even if its just with an Italian lesson.
REPORT: Alfa Romeo hatch named MITO, launch after Geneva show {Autoblog}
Feb 28th 2008 5:42PM Mito also means "Myth" or "Legend" in Italian.
Also, depending on how you use it, Mito can also mean Awsome, Excellent, etc.
Just incase the whole "Milano/Turino" BS explanation didn't do it for anyone.
Rumormill: GM could rebadge the Saab 9-1 as a Saturn, Pontiac? {Autoblog}
Feb 21st 2008 4:06PM This article is all screwed up. The 9-1 will most likely be based on the Delta II platform which will spawn the next-gen Astra. Seeing as Saturn already has the Astra (and will offer the next generation, but have it built in Ramos Arizpe or in Lordstown) there is no story here.
The fact that there may be a Pontiac version will only mean that there is a strong possibility that the G5 is not just a "placeholder" product anymore and the next generation will be less of a badge engineered product and more of a bespoke looking offering.
However, if the German magazine got some of the details wrong --- and this is more about the "sub 9-1" product that was rumored in Motor Trend (GM to build a Mini Fighter?), then it's certainly possible that Saturn (and MAYBE Pontiac) would get a version.
Two different vehicles classes and just more mixed details.
No real news here.
Yep, trolls are ugly: Brazil's Troller Pantanal {Autoblog}
Aug 23rd 2007 8:12PM Folks, remember that at the end of last year/beginning of this year, Troller was purchased by Ford....So who knows if some of this will be improved upon or not...
Chrysler Corp. will revive Pentastar logo {Autoblog}
May 17th 2007 11:02AM The referred to article doesn't say anything about dropping the winged logo from the cars -- it only says it will re-introduce the PentaStar as the CORPORATE logo and it will get a refreshening.
That's all is says --- I don't think they are going to take a step backwards and put the PentaStar back on the front ends and trunk-lids of their vehicles again now that they have created logos and images for their three remaining brands.
And further, I don't think that winged logo was ever really a corporate logo, but only used for the Chrysler brand itself. The building in Auburn Hills still has a PentaStar atop the building.
Just an observation.
Dodge looking for young buyers for the new Avenger {Autoblog}
Mar 5th 2007 4:26PM Kinda hard to look for and attract younger/sport/enthusiast buyers without offering a stick-shift of any kind --- not even on the I4 model. Considering that the Jetta/Passat, Mazda6, Nissa Altima, et al. offer a stick shift on some trim-levels AND that they are seen as it's natural rivals, it's kinda stupid for Dodge to not offer this. Dumb move or else I'd look for one.
Will the Cobalt get a mid-cycle enhancement? {Autoblog}
Feb 2nd 2007 2:39PM No, you're not mis-interpreting the tea leaves.
GM is slated to give the Cobalt (and the Pontiac G5) a significant MCE that will debut on the autoshow circuit (presumedly) later this year.
The look in your pick is similar to a few Cobalt show cars that were shown at SEMA over the past few years -- which also coincided with the look of a done up HHR and even a done up Malibu (current version). This is likely where GM is going with the product, but sans the overdone wheel-arches and body-kit as standard fare.
Take a look back at past SEMA shows for inspiration on where they are headed.
Spy Shots: Mercury Montego refresh {Autoblog}
Jan 26th 2007 1:42PM I agree with you Lee -- good luck to Mercury.
IMHO, this was overdue. I think the look is okay from what we can see here --- but I'll reserve final judgement for when we see it in person.
Additionally, notice how FoMoCo moved the license plate to the lower bumper from the trunk? It makes me wonder if the rear lights will be changed more from what we see -- maybe the light cluster will extend into the trunk like the way it is on the Milan?
Much better look so far --- and much much much nicer looking overall than the Five Hundred at first blush IMHO.
State of the Union - I'm guessing Bush couldn't pronounce "cellulosic ethanol" {Autoblog Green}

I believe by 'left wing media' he is refering to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, CNN-H, AP, UPI, the NYT, Gannett and basically every other newspaper group.
Just FYI, the non-partisan group that ranks, on a scale of 1 (most conservative) to 100 (most liberal), how liberal or conservative a politician is also ranked the news organizations. The average member of Congress at the time scored a 33. Fox News scored a 27 while CBS scored an 88, whiich means contrary to the portrayal, Fox is actually more in line with the people than CBS."
Ted Kennedy Is My Chauffer-
This is an interesting post -- do you have the actual website on this or something to cite so that I can look into this further? Was this site completely non-partisan or does it lean to the right?
Tnanks for the interesting read on this....
