GM matches Tundra's incentives {Autoblog}

Jul 4th 2007 10:47PM Moron wrote..."GM had a chance to crush Toyota by going head-to-head with Toyota when this incentive war started with Toyota. Instead, GM just got crushed with this months sales reports showing Toyota up and GM down. Why was GM down..TRUCKS!..."

Do you just look at the percent up or down when you look at the sales results? How about looking at the total number sold. Toyota is up each month but are still selling less overall than GM or Ford. They are up from the sales of the previous year for that month. Look how few they sold they sold the year before and compare that to what GM sold the year before. Not close!

Don't be such a blind thoughtless lemming fanboy. I'm embarrassed for you.

I don't understand all the talk of hard plastics. All cars of this price range have hard plastic in the interiors.

My job gives me the opportunity to sample many different makes of vehicles. There's not one in this price range that doesn't have hard plastics. No one plastic in these vehicles seems better than another. I was in a Prius the other day and the whole interior is hard plastic, the same as a Chevy HHR, as a PT and the CRV (06 model).

If you move up the price scale you start to see a difference in materials. But all these cars have hard plastics...so why even bother mentioning it?

Jun 30th 2007 4:33PM As for the gas mileage, I would assume it gets better with more mileage/time. I drive a 07 Mtnr (V8 AWD) and it gets 20-22mpg on hwy now (22k miles) but at best did 16-18 when it was new. It seemed to start getting better mileage at around 15k miles.

Someone mentioned the CRV...is it even close in size (exterior or interior volumes) to the Edge? They just seem to look much smaller than the Edge.

Jun 30th 2007 12:55PM The pwr liftgate will be accompanied by another option like sport appearance pkg w/ 20" wheels. There were a couple of others but I can't remember them.

May 4th 2007 12:02PM #30 and #38...I've seent this camo mule up close and you can't tell anything about the vehicle underneath. So, I'm not sure how you come to your conclusions that it's not changed much from the current generation.

You must have some of those cool x-ray vision glasses you bought off the back page of your lastest comic book!

I've also had the privilege to see and sit in the actual truck. Believe me, your conclusions couldn't be farther from the truth. So, you may want to send those x-ray glasses back for a refund.

May 3rd 2007 4:23PM I thought the interior was was great. I had no issue with any of the materials used. The upper section of the door panels and dash are made of a soft touch material which I would rather have than a hard plastic. And I don't think they were going for a sporty feel on this vehicle. It's supposed to more plush than sport which I would assume you guys knew before you started.

I test drove a loaded one with a sticker of $43 with destination chrg. I wouldn't call that "well over" $40. It's a good deal IMO. I would just like a better a lease deal than what's available right now. I think a more aggressive lease will come soon if the industry has another terrible month like April.

Ford confirms internally that Blue Oval B-car will be built on Mazda2 {Autoblog}

Mar 2nd 2007 5:08PM Chris has it correct. The "new" Mazda2 was jointly developed by Mazda and Ford of Europe engineers. Both of them have much more experience developing small cars. It's "based" on the current Fiesta but will not be exactly the same.

The platforms will vary slightly between markets also (SA would be different from NA, etc.).

So, no.

Australians get track-tuned FPV Falcon GT 40th Anniversary model {Autoblog}

Mar 2nd 2007 4:59PM I'm going to comment on the car itself. I believe that's what the post was originally supposed to be about.

They could drop those rims IMO. They look way to much like something from '93. While your at toss that spoiler. The car would look much sleeker without it. Less "look at me!" and more "what was that!?!".
