More details on VW's design renaissance {Autoblog}

Ford brings 2010 Mustang out to play at Road America {Autoblog}

Pollsters reveal the 2010 Cadillac CTS Wagon {Autoblog}

May 31st 2008 4:13PM The CTS Wagon was mainly developed for Europe, where the wagon market is much, much larger than in the US. (Heck, even Canada loves hatches and wagons more than americans.) The G8 is marketed to pure-bred americans who like muscle cars and pick-up trucks, hence the Ute version vs. the wagon.

Mazda2 MPS and 280 hp Mazda6 MPS on their way {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2008 1:51PM That's exactly what I thought when I read the post. I think Mazda will have to develop something else if they want to sell a Mazdaspeed6 in North America, or they could cut costs by sending the Euro-spec car as is. Smaller, lighter, presumably nimbler as well, a turbo-4 AWD mid-sized sedan (not full-sized, à-la-Accord/Sonata/USDM 09 Mazda6)... That sounds like a winning combination for someone who values a little more zoom-zoom in their family sedan. Sorry, had to plug it. But seriously... Offering the Euro 6MPS would certainly have me more interested than a bigger-engined, bloated american version.

Beijing '08 Preview: Geely to show sharply styled NL Concept {Autoblog}

Apr 11th 2008 2:07PM I see a bit of Acura RD-X and Mazda influence in there too, but overall it's a pretty nice design - if the rendering is accurate. The chinese automakers are finally starting to get it, but I still wonder how long it will take for them to be viewed as real players in other markets.

Spy Shots: 2009 Honda Pilot {Autoblog}

Apr 10th 2008 1:21AM The last time I was this disappointed because of a redesign was when I first saw the Cobalt, but that thing sells anyway because it's GM's staple small car.

But this... This is bad.

In the Autoblog Garage: 2008 Saturn Astra XR {Autoblog}

Apr 9th 2008 12:27PM As stated above me, 24MPG is not good, and keep in mind that bigger isn't always necessarily better.

I'd personally rather have more 'car' in a smaller package - I've priced out a fully loaded 3-door Astra XR (leather, Premium Sound Package with 6-disc CD changer, heated seats, 18-inch wheels, even tinted windows and an armrest) that came to be CHEAPER than my base Mazda3 Sport GS.

Guess what I'm leaning toward when my lease expires in 6 months...

Beijing '08 Preview: Geely GE MPV concept {Autoblog}

Mar 29th 2008 2:51PM Looks like a regular wagon that's been fitted with a lift kit. Not so flattering. Would be nice if it were actually a wagon, though.

New York '08 Preview: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe puts up a targa top {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 1:38AM I loved and obsessed over the R8 and CTS Coupe when they were first introduced, and this is just as impressive to me.

Good job, GM. Whoever designed this needs to become head of design at Pontiac.

TAC Stark: Brazilian off-roader set for 2009 debut {Autoblog}

Mar 17th 2008 8:23AM $41k? I don't know much about the Brazilian auto industry, but I wonder if there is a market for such an expensive dune buggy...
