Pixar confirms Cars 2 for 2012 {Autoblog}

Apr 11th 2008 1:03PM You read the first sentence that referred to the original stories "Up" and "Newt," right? Including this summer's "WALL*E," Pixar's made nine movies: one of those (Toy Story 2) has been a sequel.

Mar 27th 2008 5:22PM Ironically, I believe that's one of BMWs "Comfort Access" keys, i.e. the kind of key that would let you start the car even while it's in the glove box.

Lesson of the day: Don't hide your spare keys in your car {Autoblog}

Mar 27th 2008 5:19PM I once left my BMW parked and unlocked on a semi-busy city street overnight (I guess I was used to leaving it unlocked in a garage).

When I returned, I was amused to find the car and its belongings (including some expensive sunglasses and a few CDs) untouched except for the glove box, which had clearly been opened in search of a valet key.

Apparently, it's not as much of a no-brainer as you'd think.

Feb 15th 2008 1:06PM Here's why the Apple zealots get all enflamed about this stuff: products like this copy the stuff that DOESN'T MATTER.

Ok, yes, a grid of icons isn't exactly original. And I'll admit that if Apple wasn't first to a (fully) touchscreen phone, some one else would have gotten there, even if it weren't as well-executed.

But look at this screen cap. They've blatantly copied the color scheme and layout of the typical iPhone app: gray gradients on the top (which contains the title) and bottom (which acts as soft buttons); black on white for the contents of a list; white on blue for the selected item.

Blur your eyes and you see an iPhone.

Why do they do this? I have an iPhone; I love it, and they've done a lot of things right, but I'm completely willing to believe that there are other good solutions out there.

Dec 17th 2007 4:36PM Aren't you guys starting to feel a tad manipulated?

This reminds of the release of the original Zune, when Microsoft released a series of "leaks" to get free "viral" marketing.

I know this is a blog, and you want to put out as much as possible, but maybe it's time to just wait until the real pics come? Certainly this can't be the first time "news" item you've passed on.

Nov 6th 2007 1:11PM I'm resisting the urge to claim that this is typical Dell, trying to copy a design element and still screwing it up.

Oh crap, I just did it.
