The wait is over. First U.S. Nissan GT-R delivered at 12:01 AM {Autoblog}
Jul 7th 2008 11:21PM BS he paid no markup without a fix from Nissan USA.
I personally was on the waiting list for the majority of dealers in the LA area *well* before orders even opened. When they did, on DAY 1, Universal Nissan requested $50k over sticker.
Nissan sure was talking a big game about not tolerating price gouging, and then they go and reward the worst offender with a publicity event like this.
Nissan GT-R deliveries begin July 7th, 70-percent spoken for {Autoblog}
Jun 30th 2008 6:48PM Too bad nobody is selling these for anywhere *near* MSRP. At $70k it's an amazing value of a practical supercar, at $120k there's a whole lot more to consider...
ESRB to curb early game leaks {Joystiq}
Jun 20th 2008 11:26PM Am I the only one amused that the source for a story about preventing leaks...is a leaked memo?
Gran Turismo PSP still 'delayed,' possibly until 2009 {Joystiq}
Apr 4th 2008 7:11PM I see what you did there, Ludwig. ;)
Bravo to both making a racing joke (DNF = Did Not Finish) *and* a video game joke with the same 3 letters
FIA rejects McLaren appeal, confirms Raikkonen's title {Autoblog}
Nov 21st 2007 3:09PM "Sore Losers"? C'mon Noah, Hamilton and the Engineers pursuing the appeal stated repeatedly that they were not looking to win the title in court. Hell, here's a story stating as much _from the very same source_ that this post links to.

And get over the blogger/internet media comments made by Dennis. It's been blown out of proportion. This isn't some David vs Goliath "Poor little Blogger got no respect from monster McLaren". You're employed by an international media conglomerate so you'll get no sympathy from me.

Winners! The 10 pumpkin-carvers who win Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles {Joystiq}
Nov 1st 2007 2:10PM I call shenanigans.
The official rules said:
"Carvings must be the submitter’s own personal work/design with a video game theme. Designs must be original. No template cutting/carvings allowed."
Not, "no COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE template..." just "no template". I carved a Ratchet & Clank Future pumpkin that I didn't submit because of this rule, and now a vast majority of the winners obviously used other peoples work as a template for their carving (I.E. the Illidan pumpkin is straight from the wikipedia image of Illidan). lame.
I mean to take nothing away from the winners. Carving with a template is still a difficult and time consuming process, I'm just a bit miffed that the "official rules" aren't being followed.
$4.5 million awarded in Porsche Carrera GT case {Autoblog}
Oct 25th 2007 4:34PM 1. 100% in agreement with the Ford. Judging by your comments, most of you don't even know the facts behind the incident much less anything about the parties involved. Shame on you for callously and needlessly insulting Ben, Corey, and Tracy. Internet Etiquette 101: if you wouldn't say it in person, don't say it online. I highly doubt any of you would call this young widow a skank, golddigger, etc to her face.
2. Get over yourselves. Yes, Ben and Corey signed waivers and accepted the risks inherent with the event...but those waviers have been widely ruled to only apply to negligence and not *gross* negligence as was shown in this case.
Why was ____ held liable?
The F driver? Acting on FOC flagman's instructions, he pulled out in front of CGT. His liability is a result of not promptly getting off of the racing line and thus causing the crash.
The track? Dangerously designed (Guardrail blocking drivers view of pit-out, concrete wall moved closer to track to allow more room for playground during NASCAR race caused the collision to be a head-on instead of a glancing blow)
FOC? It was their event and their staff member who erroneously cleared the Ferrari to pull out in front of the CGT. They also, contrary to their stated policies, allowed Ben to run his CGT despite one of their approved Tech Inspection sites warning about the oversteer issues. In fact, they allowed Ben to sign his own tech inspection form.
The CGT driver (Ben)? He knowingly participated with his car despite the advisement of the tech inspectors that there was an oversteer issue. He didn't disclose this to Corey. He also is arguably the primary catalyst of the wreck having (allegedly) overreacted/overcorrected which led to the spin.

Oct 24th 2007 9:36PM it's Hublot not Hubolt. pronounced who-blo
I'll agree 25k is pricey for a watch, but Hublot is an up and comer. They build their own movements which is a rarity nowadays. If you wanna see expensive how about a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Grand Complication Tourbillion in Platinum. In addition to being a mouthful, it's about $400k.

To be honest, most gearheads would probably be interested in the model this a special edition of (the "Big Bang"). They're constructed of rubber, carbon fiber, ceramics and kevlar. ;)
TiVo Series3 and HD FINALLY get TiVoToGo, MRV, eSATA drive, other new features {Engadget}
Oct 23rd 2007 3:43PM @JJ
Fair enough. Of the half dozen or so I've upgraded, all the S2s (both Tivo branded and Sony SVR) have had quickviews OEM while I do recall seeing "normal" drives back in the S1s.
