Bush approves offshore drilling to spur on Congress {Autoblog Green}
Jul 15th 2008 10:13AM Hey wise golden, actually Democrats have been trying to reduce our dependence on foreign oil imports for decades. Republicans only discovered this concept when they realized they could use it as a campaign issue.
From Jimmy Carters 1980 state of the union address:
"Our excessive dependence on foreign oil is a clear and present danger to our Nation's security. The need has never been more urgent. At long last, we must have a clear, comprehensive energy policy for the United States."
"The single biggest factor in the inflation rate last year, the increase in the inflation rate last year, was from one cause: the skyrocketing prices of OPEC oil. We must take whatever actions are necessary to reduce our dependence on foreign oil--and at the same time reduce inflation."

Apr 19th 2007 7:00PM Once upon a time I was driving behind an Integra that had one of the stock rear spoilers that some of them had, but this one looked a little funny. It was higher up than usual.
As I got closer I saw how the genius owner had done it.
With 2 inch pieces of PVC pipe used as spacers.
