In the Autoblog Garage: 2008 Infiniti EX35 [w/VIDEO] {Autoblog}

Apr 8th 2008 11:53AM What is the point of this vehicle? The point is that when you are riding high you are safer in case of a side impact. Safety is one of the reasons for buying SUVs isn't? There is more rollover risk, but lower risk of injury in case of a collision.

Intel plots $100 "NetTop" market with Diamondville {Engadget}

Mar 12th 2008 4:00PM This is Larry Ellison's Network Computer vision finally coming to fruition.

New MacBook and MacBook Pros now available {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Feb 26th 2008 10:55AM So the $1099 model still doesn't come with a DVD writer. Compare this to Notebooks from Sony and others. Even the cheapest $399 models today come with DVD writers. Apple charges 3x and still doesn't include a Superdrive. Unjustifiable. Apple is once again making the mistake of thinking volume is not important.

Linksys intros Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera WVC54GC {Engadget}

Jan 9th 2008 9:18AM The correct model number is WVC54GCA.

I have the Panasonic model and I am happy with it. It too uses an ActiveX, but only when viewed in IE. Unlink linksys, FireFox is also supported and in this case ActiveX is not used. My only gripe is that it is almost twice as expensive as the linksys. Night-time video is also quite noisy.

The Apple Store is down..... {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 8th 2008 8:13AM So why do they have to take the store down when updating products? When was the last time you saw Amazon.com display a "We'll be back soon" message while updating products? Seems Apple store's technology isn't that good.

AT&T removes on-line iPhone plan customization {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 29th 2007 12:20PM I would like to do the opposite: Keep unlimited Internet, but cancel voice because it is too expensive. I make maybe 5 local calls a month, half minute per call. And for that I am paying $40 per month plus taxes. Previously I had a prepaid phone from another carrier, for which I was paying $10 a year. You read that right, ten bucks a year. The first year its $100, after that if you pay $10 per year you get $10 worth of new minutes plus you get to keep the unused minutes from the previous year.

Amazon has an iPhone portal {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 17th 2007 9:43PM This is ridiculous. The reason I paid $499 for an iPhone is because of its ability to view full-fledged web pages, not some mini-internet. I am familiar with the full amazon site. I don't want to become familiar with the iphone-amazon site. Don't these guys watch the Apple commercials? It specifically say iPhone brings you the INTERNET, period, not some "Mobile Internet", damn it. And this right after Yahoo started delivering crippled Internet to iPhone: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5052150
At this rate, iPhone will lose one of its most important features. No more full Internet. Soon, I expect NYTimes.com will start delivering mobile-internet to the iPhone. I will ebay my iPhone when that happens.

Tada! The 6th Gen contract-free WiFi-enabled iPod {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 2nd 2007 10:55PM I have already activated my iPhone on the $60 plan. I would like to switch to the PrePaid plan. I know I can cancel the existing plan - at worst I'll lose the activation fee. I'll then have an iPhone that was once active, but now without service. The question is, can the previously-activated iPhone then be re-activated using iTunes?

AT&T customers seeing sudden boost in EDGE speeds? {Engadget}

Jun 29th 2007 12:25AM What does this speed increase mean? How long does it take for a page like nytimes.com home take to load?

Also, anyone got Seattle speed?

iPhone's missing iChat, MMS, etc. coming via software updates? {Engadget}

Jun 27th 2007 12:26PM Don't discount the possibility that iPhone already includes a GPS chip, but without the necessary software support. A software update will turn on the GPS support, just like Apple did with their MacBook wifi support. Wouldn't that be great?
