Jun 29th 2007 3:26AM Yes, old Fiats suffered greatly from rust. Dad had a Fiat 127 long time ago, and well, everything rusted up pretty quickly. I've heard that modern Fiats are more rust-worthy though, and this new Cinquecento promises to be a fun machine!

Fiat did (deservedly) have a hopeless reputation as regards quality but this has now changed following the Fiat near-death and revival. Anyone who will scoff at this 500 just because it's a Fiat doesn't know what he's on about.

Mar 19th 2007 4:09AM This will be a very small operation at first employing only a handful of people. I guess its size will depend on the commitment by the big guns to this idea. I knew that work was going on during the last Summer to impress the big guys from Ford to sign the final contract, and I'm glad they succeeded. As they say, Viva Malta!
