Audi planning to spend €11.8 billion on new models {Autoblog}
Dec 11th 2006 5:45PM #6 & #7 You are obviously a retard. According to your mind everyone in Italy drives Ferarris and Lambos to make them feel patriotic. MB and BMW and Audi are luxury cars: simple people don't just buy them to feel patriotic. That means you drive a Cadillac just like every other american, right? FYI "normal" germans preffer japanese cars for comuting and their own german cars(or other cars that don't make you feel like a bottle in a fridge) for weekend/leasure driving.
And as for you people stating Germans have reliability issues... well, DOH! Their cars are so sophisticated and have so many features (to facilitate driving comfort/pleasure) that it's very hard to avoid anything going wrong (the more complicated it is the more things there are to go wrong). That's why Toyotas don't break: they were built with the same passion as my freezer. And don't kidd yourserves: most japanese cars that approach the same level of sophistication as their german counterparts also suffer from reliability problems. It's a balance: either make it easier/funner to drive with more headackes or no headackes whatsoever but offer the same satisfaction as... well I can't think of anything as boring as that. (Don't complain about this car and that car... i know there are exceptions to these rules as there are to any other.)

Dec 5th 2006 1:37PM #10 Erm,.... right. Actualy, to set it up for 500 hp all you need to do is press one tiny button ("Sport"). You need special classes to set it for normal traffic though. The idea is good: to adjust the ride settings to exactly what you want/expect from the car so you're as happy as possible with it. But happiness doesn't come cheap. Just think of all the time invested in learning for that PHD.

Nov 16th 2006 5:29PM #9 Moving on from the american haters to the american ass kissers. Show me at least one publication or "expert opinion" that says anything other then american finish is one step behind european quality( or japanese for that matter). I'm not sayin it's bad but still doesn't quite live up the pretentions of their foreign counterparts. I've only been in an Escalade and a 300c to compare to european counterparts and i can't imagine these as equals to BMW/Mercedes/Audi. Have you ever tried knoking on the dashboard of an Escalade? Sounds like an empty trash bin. If you don't believe me look up the Escalade review on TopGear on YouTube (they might be "over opinionated" but if you ignore the opinions and take in the facts you'll get where i'm going with this).
As for refference to this particular blog: First 3 are a shamefull copy of the CTS and the last 2 are a blasphemy to the RS4. Can't they be sued (or however it's spelled) for this kind of thing? If i were the head of Cadillac or Audi i wouldn't like a copy cat running amok and lessening the image of my products.
Supra's descendant will come equipped with hybrid power {Autoblog}
Nov 3rd 2006 12:22PM #15 Originality and uniqueness? Have they legalized drugs in your country already? Well, come to think of it.... nobody else has such dull and uninteresting designs or a luxury division that copies german designs and tries to sell them as their own, so... yes, in a way it's unique.
As for this: man, they just can't lay off the photoshopping of german cars, but i do admit this is the first time they've copied italians, as the front end looks like a cross between Alfa Romeo and the Audi R8. And it seems they've actualy managed to make the first ever comuter's sports car with that hybrid powertrain. Should fly through bumper-to-bumper traffic, while doing 30 mpg. Whooopy!

Oct 30th 2006 3:36PM These things are really a good idea to keep out unwanted vehicles from restricted areas. Since there are plenty of well-lit signs indicating the danger it can only be your fault if something happens, because you either consider yourself too smart to obey the rules or are plainly stupid on an industrial scale. The point is that if it's well advertised there should be no moaning whatsoever, only if they were to not post any sign whatsoever to indicate the bollards would this be considered an abuse.
#24 I see you're a big Orwell enthusiast. Good for you. Now grab a gun and shoot yourself before the sistem gets to you (that's the only way to beat it). Thanks in advance.
#25 Yes you're right the government wants to sistematicly kill us all off using retractable bollards and then put high tax on funeral services so it can get our money too. Genius!
PS: Next time you feel the urge to have a thought, don't. It's for the best. Maybe it'll make the people pointing at you and laughing stop.
The Ford Taurus SHO rocks, and Conan agrees {Autoblog}
Oct 29th 2006 6:39AM #19 Stop wasting your time trying to teach americans abstract notions such as "corners" or "bends". Their idea of a sports car fits the european and japanese idea of a train: moderatly to quite fast on straights and derails at the slightest hint of a bend of more then 10 degrees. This car might have been good and worth it's money but comparing it to an original M3 is blasphemy and pure ignorance.

Oct 25th 2006 6:22AM #3 Have you ever actually been to Europe? Where is all that BS coming from?
Let me get this straight: someone from the same country as people who rebuild their houses in the exact same spot each year after losing them to tornadoes, a place that is coincidentaly named "tornado alley", is calling europeans crazy/insane for doing the exact same thing and expecting different results. And the same country seems to be filled with this sort of people: http://www.220.ro/stuff/Prostia_americanilor.htm , and is apparently run by a guy who remarkably resembles both in appearance as well as in thought an urangutan.
And let's not forget that americans have a bad opinion on europeans whereas the entire world has a bad opinion about them.
(Sorry to deviate this conversation from cars to stuff like that but it just agravates the hell out of me to see ignorant idiots like these that are living proof that americans really are as ignorant about the world around them as it is said. Not all, but a vast majority and I do feal sorry for those smart ones cought up in this.)
PS. Just so you know in some places in Europe the term "american" is slowly being turned into an insult. And I've had an american teach me english and i can confirm that hand on heart.
BMW makes the 3-Series Convertible official {Autoblog}
Oct 24th 2006 8:26AM This car looks great and since it's an improvement on the old 3 convertible handling and power-wise it can't be anything other then great. I've seen the interior on the 3 coupe and since it's the same car minus a roof I can't see how you could clasify that interior as bad. It's very nice. Overall it's not perfect but miles ahead of the competition anyway and great in it's class. As for the pothead who prefers an Infinity my advice is to wait till getting out of rehab before formulating an opinion, ot just taking the easy way out and comitting suicide.
Toyota Human Touch ad is gripping {Autoblog}
Oct 21st 2006 6:06AM #18 It's the Mazda MX-5 i think, which is also the girliest car ever. To quote a recent car show i saw on Discovery: "I wouldn't be caught dead driving it" as stated by a male car fanatic. It's the kind of affordable, "almost" performance sports car (but not quite) that women love and men would rather die then be seen in front of their friends in.
Just because it's well selling doesn't mean it's good. That kind of stuff sells good because it's cheap.
