"The average single family home was 2,349 square feet in 2004, compared to 1,695 square feet in 1974. The size of the kitchen alone has doubled to nearly 300 square feet. Ground-floor ceilings have grown by more than a foot, and bedrooms are now an average of 12 feet by 12 feet, compared to 9 feet by 10 feet 30 years ago."
I suppose that you'd have the prices stay the same and the extra 654 sq. ft. should be free.
That extra foot of ceiling space in cold weather climates goes over real good. Hot air rises and you have to run more heat to get the heat down where people live. You need more stuff to fill that bigger house. It's soooo not fair.

1100 sq. ft. in the 1940s.
3.67 members in a house in 1940 to 2.62 members in a house in 2002.
1 less person and a 1000 more square feet.
'In 1975, 46% of new houses had central air conditioning; by 2002, 87% had it.'
I think air conditioning as a right was passed by congress in the 1970s.

#2 not good enough for Toyota? {Autoblog}
Dec 23rd 2006 2:16PM "Sounds like you don't like to hear Toyota's quality IS DOWN. And that the recalls they have had are on the rise"
Never owned a Toyota in my life. Neither has any family member.
#2 not good enough for Toyota? {Autoblog}
Dec 23rd 2006 11:07AM #8 What press release did Toyota have that says "We're going to be #1"?
They said that they expect to sell 9.2 million cars.
"But Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe
barely said anything when asked about the possibility that his company may soon beat GM in global output.
“That's just what the results may be,” he said quietly at a news conference at a hotel in Nagoya, central Japan, near Toyota city where the auto maker is based.
Mr. Watanabe spent far more time talking about how Toyota must strengthen quality controls if it hoped to continue growing."
Mr. Watanabe was asked a question and said what he said. The press release said nothing about being #1,
and the gentleman didn't really want to talk about being #1.
Your press release would be hot air.
Toyotas was not, it was put out most likely for the
investment community where it is important to know
what the general direction is for a company in the near term.
