More Nissan leakage: Cube image surfaces, still boxy, still cool {Autoblog}

May 16th 2008 3:09AM I have always like the Cube. My worry would be that it would end up being like the Honda Element -- which looked really neat in pictures, but in person it was big a clunky looking.

The Cube looks really interesting and practical to me. Seems to have a real personality to it.

Toyota Alphard gets facelift, Vellfire sibling {Autoblog}

May 14th 2008 12:53AM So ... do the people who keep bashing the looks of Chrysler vehicles actually think this is a wonderful look?

I guess they do through their rainbow sunglassses or something.

But uh .. sight unseen ... great interior great interior.

Chrysler kills rebadge of Dodge Journey to work on small car {Autoblog}

May 14th 2008 12:51AM Great decision .. they need a small sedan and the Versa plateform should be a good one. The body etc will be Chrysler, so it could be a nice offering.

Journey is getting terrific reviews. Interior is getting good reviews too. The worse review I've seen said the interior was very good but could still be improved.

The price point is simply outstanding as well ... something like $10,000 plus less expensive then the Edge.

Anyway, they only need a Dodge version for sure; and focusing on the sedan shows they are listening to the market well.

Toyota responds to Ford's new initial quality ads {Autoblog}

May 12th 2008 2:50PM I agree. Toyota targeted the big 3 for years with these quality studies, and still targest them with trying to convince people their trucks are at least as good.

What has happened is that Toyota has to more and more play in the same field as other -- ie. the "market" is directing the products profit and quality. You can see this by Lexus still continuing on with exceptional quality while Toyota can no longer afford to maintain that at the volume the Toyota brand is selling.

It is more complicated that that, but generally that is what is going on. It was well known that in the early 90s Toyota was selling its cars at a huge loss (Japanese gov't essentially went into huge debt on Toyota's behalf). People were buying Lexus quality at Toyota prices. That cannot be continued at the volume they are selling now.

Enter the Rumormill: Ford considering F-100 small pickup {Autoblog}

May 12th 2008 2:34PM I agree .. 9/10 would be fine if that WAS the F-150 replacement .. but it make no sense besides that.

There will be a growing market for substantially more fuel efficient small trucks like the Ford Ranger - probably why it does still sell eventhough it dates back to 1982.

Lightweight materials great .. but again that has to be for the F-150 (maybe it becomes even more different then the F250 etc).

I don't know -- sounded wonderful when I first read it; but I'm thinking 9/10 is hardly worth noticing.

Who would have thought? Ford Racing has a sense of humor {Autoblog}

May 10th 2008 7:33PM The Ford folks are terrific! Breath of fresh air and an incredibly cool car.

VIDEO: Danica Patrick hits crew member on pit lane at Indy {Autoblog}

May 10th 2008 7:27PM My personal impression is absolute amazement that this does not happen way more often -- the people in the pits (and drivers) must be alert to a high level.

I tell you, I work at CFL football games, volunteering and even working the sidelines with all the activity you have to be incredibly alert to not get in anyones way. You have to watch the field (often your back effectively), and even the TV cameras on modified golf carts can easily catch you off guard -- and they are surrounded by an armanda of people, cables, and use their horn.

Chrysler looking to sell two axle plants, get leaner and meaner {Autoblog}

Chrysler working on Project D to replace Sebring/Avenger {Autoblog}

Apr 17th 2008 2:19AM Sounds like the people in charge of Chrysler are making great decisions.
