Obsession builds perfection at Lexus {Autoblog}

Jul 10th 2007 10:26AM Talk to my neighbor about his GX 470 that he purchased after trading his Highlander. He swears that its not a Lexus with it's squeaks and rattles. He expected a premium Toyota product and his product experience has been sub-par. He swears the dealership is fantastic. He had a problem with his seatbelt and they picked up his vehicle and gave him a gift if didn't report the problem in the first 90 days. Hmmmmmm

GM matches Tundra's incentives {Autoblog}

Jul 4th 2007 12:09PM GM had a chance to crush Toyota by going head-to-head with Toyota when this incentive war started with Toyota. Instead, GM just got crushed with this months sales reports showing Toyota up and GM down. Why was GM down..TRUCKS!
This exemplifies Americas inability to compete anymore: they sit on their asses and get their head beat in by war of perception. When are they gonna learn that they aren't going to get their image out of the 'shitter' until they can crush them at their own game. Frig, Toyota played GM's game with incentives and came out looking better for it with a truck that is was a potential nightmare. Even with incentives, recalls, overruns, etc. Toyota still wins.
Who is running these companies?

Jul 3rd 2007 7:14AM Hyundai did not rip-off the previous Accord. The 1995'ish Sonata was copied by Honda. Go look at that car and then look at the next gen Accord and you'll see Honda copied Hyundai before.

End of the road for $25,000 luxury SUV tax loophole {Autoblog}

Jul 2nd 2007 1:07PM Listen, everyone has their own opinion about tax breaks. Some get them for great big SUV's and some get them for eco-greeners. And I don't give a crap about the glaciers that are supposedly melting. I don't believe everything I read or see on the activist..err...'news' reports.

Enter the rumormill: Scion to sell rebadged Tribeca? {Autoblog}

Jul 2nd 2007 8:54AM As much as we would like to believe Scion is a 'youth-oriented brand' and Toyota's target market is hit when a Scion is sold, the fact is that Scions are being sold to much older consumers than Toyota anticipated. As much as a Tribecca would seem to be a head-scratcher, it would give the Toyota lot another opportunity to sell a vehicle and the Tribecca is 'different'. Anyway, they wouldn't lose any money to change the grill, the id badges and ship it and see what happens. Toyota is beginning to think just like GM now though. Let's start rebadging vehicles and see if it works. The Tribecca has been accepted with indifference, at best, by consumers but Toyota thinks they can sell it as a Scion?
