Samsung now shipping Touch of Color LCD monitors {Engadget}
Jul 23rd 2008 5:09PM Does anyone else realize that, at least according to the engadget article, even the large monitors only have a 1080 panel? Normally 24" and 26" displays are much higher resolution that that. Or is the article just missing their true resolutions?
Because it would NOT be a steal if they were only 1080 pixels high!

Method devised for pwning first-gen iPhones running 2.0 via Windows {Engadget}
Jul 20th 2008 3:32PM Cydia isn't a replacement for installer, it's just another program like installer that some people like more - it's more development oriented. Installer should work on 2.0 also, though it may take some time for developers to update their programs. Likely not long though - these developers are pretty damn impressive.
I must say, it kind of seems more like you have an agenda than a real concern for people's interests, or are genuinely misinformed.

Jul 18th 2008 5:56PM "now with 100% more MS Duo and miniSD support"
Again, i am amused... 100% of zero is still zero... 100% more of zero is still zero...
This came up before when that multi-external hard drive dock got updated, and the writer claimed it had 100% more of some port it had none of before...
It's totally a silly point but it is still so wrong it's hard not to notice... It started an amusing thread of comments last time.
Or maybe he's right? Did it have half a miniSD port before? ;)

iPhone Dev Team says Pwnage Tool won't unlock iPhone 3G (for now) {Engadget}
Jul 17th 2008 4:07PM As they say in their blog, it's only been 5 days and its incredibly impressive for them to already be so close. They had some exploits worked out but they wanted to test them on real hardware first before they released anything. They have already found some bugs and things to work out that would have been potentially damaging, so i'm glad they're being thorough! As they also say in their blog, imagine what a big corporation working on something like this would be doing right about now... Scheduling a "kick-off" meeting to get some work started... Meanwhile these guys are almost done. Because of all the different time zones they are in, they literally haven't stopped working on it since it came out. The effort is really impressive!
That said, i really want it too! I can't wait! :)
Thanks Dev Team!!! :)

Jul 17th 2008 4:02PM I just responded above to a similar question so i'll just copy my response here:
No, you still need to unlock to use other ATT sims. My boss has a legitimate, activated iPhone (first gen), and it only accepts the iPhone SIM it was activated with, not his other ATT sims. My iPhone is unlocked and i can use my normal ATT sim (bought my iphone without extending my contract, heh).
