First Cadillac CTS-V auctioned off for charity {Autoblog}

Apr 19th 2008 10:54AM Ha, Catch 22. If automakers DON'T make a big push at intro and auction off a new model they're essentially admitting that this car is no big deal. If they go ahead and try an auction the buyers are likely to say the same thing in a very public forum.

Rendered Ruminations: The AM V10, Aston Martin's next halo car (not really) {Autoblog}

Apr 11th 2008 8:50PM I really liked it until I realized there'd be no engine in the front... so what the heck is under that enormous hood?

Ford Racing Mustang Challenge gets HD reality series {Autoblog}

Mar 31st 2008 11:10PM Sounds kickass! I won't be watching this on TV since I don't get cable/sat/whatever but if it ends up being a good show I'll buy the DVD.

VIDEO: Nissan GT-R vs BMW M3 vs Porsche 911 GT3 {Autoblog}

Feb 25th 2008 7:30PM I think he makes it pretty clear;

If you're an average driver and you want to go around a racetrack as fast as possible: get a Skyline.

If you're an excellent driver and you want to go around a racetrack as fast as possible: well... still get the Skyline.

BUT; If you live and breath this s__t, if you enter a state of zen-like transcendence when you're on a track with a car that fuses with your being; The 911's the best bet.

For most people the Skyline's the pick, for the track enthusiasts that are likely to read/watch Autocar the 911's the pick. Therefore a tie.

Ford's "effing" problem needs a fix {Autoblog}

Feb 18th 2008 7:29PM 'Fiesta' screams cheap, bottom of the line, economy box. Which is too bad because this car looks like it deserves better.

Transport Canada to implement speed limiting device {Autoblog}

Feb 9th 2008 6:51PM BS. This is just complete BS. Winding Road is crap, utter crap. - Okay maybe I've been listening to too much of the Ricky Gervais show... But the point remains, as a rational human being I cannot trust Winding Road as the sole source for such a monumentally unlikely piece of news.

These are the guys who fabricated a ZR1 story and intentionally conned readers and reporters. They have no credibility. Winding Road is car porn, nothing more.

Chicago 2008: Alton F-650 XUV makes a big statement {Autoblog}

Feb 7th 2008 10:25AM Wow, grossly underpowered! It has the same power to weight ratio as a 40hp full size sedan! Not much of a tough truck.

Jan 29th 2008 11:21PM It's great to see BMW finally updating the Z8.

Now wait a minute. That's not a Z8! In fact I don't think that's a BMW at all!

GMC unibody pickup concept to debut in Chicago, not New York {Autoblog}

Jan 25th 2008 1:10PM I hope GM would know better than to produce something like this. While I love the idea of a unibody light duty pickup, this example is not the way to go. As shown the bed is almost entirely non-functional, it's far too small, and it's located almost entirely behind the rear axle. I suspect you're better off looking at the Ridgeline some more because it's probably closer to the future than this.

Yes, I know the Subaru Baha was designed with the exact flaws I'm criticizing. Let's hope GM can learn from Subie's mistake.

Ford already thinking about more aerodynamic F-150 {Autoblog}

Jan 22nd 2008 5:20PM The BEST solution; The major automakers selling full sized trucks in NA have to form a commission. The commission will determine a set of rules on pickup truck dimensions. The manufacturers will commit to following those rules for their upcoming trucks. Any holdout automakers that refuse to sign on are publicly humiliated by the competition and environmental groups.

Pickups have horrible CD because the manufacturers are terrified of looking effeminate in this testosterone fueled segment. There have to be rules in place to keep Dodge (for example) from killing X million dinosaurs just to prove it has the biggest ... ummm ...frontal area.

The good news is that these rules don't have to be legislated by the government, IF the industry can get it's act together.
