Beijing '08 Preview: Nissan Intima to make production debut? {Autoblog}
Mar 31st 2008 7:25PM Unfortunately, us in Australia will probably get this instead of your "4DSC" Maxima. We get the current Teana which, although when released looked rather striking and had a great interior, it was never dynamic, it's now dated and it doesn't sell to well. Bear in mind that we don't get the awesome Altima and Nissan Australia actually has no mid-size entry (it's all screwed up down here with Nissan)
Give me the 4DSC Maxima over the Intima any day. The Intima will be another Japanese Buick whereas the 4DSC Maxima will probably actually, y'know, handle.
Mitsubishi set to close Australian plant {Autoblog}
Feb 5th 2008 8:40AM Well, no. It wasn't a lack of V8 that killed 380 sales. It's the slowly eroding large car segment which has seen Falcon experience the lowest sales since its first decade on the market, the brand new Commodore slip a few percentage points... Aurion is doing pretty well but it could be picking up fleet slack. I've seen some Aurions used as police cars around the city.
MMA has pretty much been in trouble for years. A revised and discounted 380 couldn't stop it from folding. They ruined the Magna by not updating it then dumping it into fleets. So they changed the name and pretty much slashed sales by half because nobody knew what a 380 was. And bland styling on account of the American Galant design, which MMA couldn't afford to revise. MMA was doomed to fail. Such a shame for those workers.
Frankfurt 2007: Mercedes Benz F700 {Autoblog}
Sep 11th 2007 8:29AM For all you people commenting on the aesthetics, you do realise that the looks of the car are of the least importance. This is a technological showcase, displaying some very interesting and revolutionary technology. They coulda wrapped it in a S-Class exterior if they wanted to. So don't deride this concept as crappy just because of its looks. They're not the reason it's on stage.
Cadillac offering clear taillamps on 2008 CTS? {Autoblog}
Jul 27th 2007 11:40PM Yeah, the European STS and SRX use these clear lenses. They look pretty nice but I prefer the traditional red, which is more in line with Cadillacs of yore.
Holden reveals Special Edition Commodore SVZ Ute and Wagon {Autoblog}
May 16th 2007 5:51PM The article neglected to mention that these are just tarted-up run-out models. These are the VZ Ute and VZ Wagon, which are the only VZ models left. They're going to be replaced by a VE Wagon and VE Ute by year's end, or in '08.
That's why they look old. Because they are. Both have been around, with mild revisions of course, since 1997.
Next VW Rabbit to take cues from IROC Concept? {Autoblog}
Feb 8th 2007 12:55AM I believe D'Silva or one of the other VW group designers has expressed their disdain that the big single-frame grille has wound up on Volkswagens. Thus, I predict they're going to push a different design direction for Volkswagen.

Dec 23rd 2006 3:41AM That's certainly not fact, so it must be opinion. And everyone's entitled to an opinion, but that doesn't make it fact.

Dec 21st 2006 6:46PM Do I want to come out of it? I'm sorry, you're going to have to elaborate - what do you mean by that?

2008 Chevy Equinox Sport: One S shy of an SS {Autoblog}
Dec 14th 2006 7:16AM ...and they didn't call it SS.
They gave it the 3.6 engine.
They did more than just pop the aforementioned engine in.
Looks like they've covered what all of us on Autoblog spoke/complained about. Good job, GM!
