Lutz says GM open to alliance with Ford {Autoblog}

Nov 20th 2006 11:25AM IMO: A merger between Ford and GM will never happen unless one of them is in a unrecoverable state. GM seems to be better off than Ford right but neither is that close to folding.
Merger and collaboration are two different things...

Backing better backup: NHTSA says cameras work better than sonar {Autoblog}

Nov 16th 2006 9:48PM "Back-up incidents account for 183 deaths and 7,000 injuries every year."

I know accidents will happen but DAMN!!! This type of stuff is avoidable even without out the use of sensors or cameras.

Bush meets with Big Three, has open ear but no commitments {Autoblog}

Nov 14th 2006 6:40PM "Big 2.5 "Hiring Ploicies" are Anti-Amnerican, in my view. Why? In oreder ot be hired at GM, you must KNOW SOMEONE working at the plant, have htem bring you an application, and have them take it back to HR, and have htat person also vouch for you, in order to even be considered to be hired! What type of garbage is that?! You tell me! This sound "fair" to all Americans? IT'S NOT.PERIOD! NO EXCUCSE FOR IT. NONE."

Hate to do this but I have to call it when I see it......... B*LLSH*T!!!!

I live in Detroit, work for the automotive industry, have friends and family in the industry. Have never heard of such a requirement..... Yes, you can have someone grab you an application but their association is not a REQUIREMENT for employment.

BTW: If you are truly a veteran, I'd like to take this time to thank you for your service and sacrifices made as a member of our Armed Forces.

What blindspot? Toyota FJ Cruiser Convertible {Autoblog}

Nov 14th 2006 6:19PM I await the Autoblog classic "every rapper, drug dealer or resident of the "hood","urban"..etc. will be buying one of these" responses.

Bush meets with Big Three, has open ear but no commitments {Autoblog}

Nov 14th 2006 5:25PM This is so funny!!!
It's amazing how the wanna be analysis have branched this whole topic into a "bailout"..
Ok, geniuses, do you understand EXACTLY what the concerns are? What this meeting was about? Obviously not if you keep thinking they're whining about low sales. I guess rising heathcare cost are only a problem in the automotive industry?!?!?! Some of you are so simple!! There's more to the problems concerning the manufacturing industry (not just auto) then making a successful product.

KTM's Audi-powered Crossbow {Autoblog}

Nov 10th 2006 3:43PM I know this is just a concept rendering, but the rear end does no justice for the front. And I wouldn't be caught in that thing without a windshield.

Adjustment to GM 3Q losses... now only $91M! {Autoblog}

Nov 8th 2006 11:47AM Well, everyone knew this was going to take some time, at least the lose is not continuing to spiral down... err I mean up, no, uh, I mean down.. Crap!! Nevermind, things are looking better then last year... Yeah, that's the ticket.

RETRACTED - Lincoln MKS to get a V8 after all! {Autoblog}

Nov 7th 2006 5:26PM grumbles,
I'm not sure what Saracen meant by "class", but to add on to why your comparison is way off, just think about it!! ..... Look at options, price, market....etc. Athough in the same car class, why would anyone considering cars like the A6, 5 Series, CTS-V, M45, 450h, or E55...etc. cross-shop for a MKZ.
Dude, you're doing apples to oranges....

BMW M5 shifts old-school {Autoblog}

Nov 7th 2006 2:02PM Just some quick questions...
I'm not a fan of drifting, but looking a the level of control you have to have to be good in that sport, has anyone heard or seen someone drift in any type of automated manual or semi-automatic transmission. (DSG, SMG....etc) How do you finely control the amount of "slip" in these transmissions.
Just wondering, the technology behind these newer semi-automatics/manuals (whatever buzzword you choose) are great and the benefits huge, but IMO, not greater than the skill and art of your four limbs independently working to precisely control a vehicle.
I'm not a "diehard" manual driver, for me, it's only preferred in a high performance two seater coupe or roadster. But was wondering does anybody know of any other "tricks" or "moves" that can't be done in a DSG/SMG...etc.

New Z06 bursts into flames {Autoblog}

Nov 6th 2006 2:00PM "He he paid over $90K for the car. I heard these Z06's were going for more than list, but DAMN! $90K? He also said the car has had nothing but problems and was always in the shop."

Definitely sounds like a dealer screw-up...

Wow!! 90K.... I love the ZO6, but not at that price.
