You're right. However, my daily driver has HUD and I've gotten so used to it that when I drive other cars (rentals, for example - that happens every week), I find myself speeding more often and frequently spend too much time looking for the speedo. When the speedo is constantaly in your face you think about your speed constantly.

As far as how long it takes to look at the dash vs. HUD - the thing you're not considering is that HUD is always in your peripheral vision, so there's no need to divert your eyes from road to check speed, tach, etc.

Playing with your iPod while driving... THAT will take your eyes off the road for a while.

eBay Find of the Day: 2009 Camaro {Autoblog}

Aug 11th 2006 11:58AM Free enterprise at its best. Yea, I said it. At it's best. The fact is that a seller can sell what he has for whatever the market is willing to bear. WHATEVER THE MARKET IS WILLING TO BEAR.

If you don't like that, move to a communist state and enjoy the benefits. We don't want you here anyway.

2007 Corvette Z06 goes Atomic and gets higher price {Autoblog}

Aug 8th 2006 5:40PM "Yes, still one of the best bang for the buck, but for who? What happened to the average man's supercar??"

First of all, why the hell should an "AVERAGE man" have a SUPERcar? The last time I checked, it really is OKAY for some people to have what others can't afford to have. For some, it gives them something to strive for - you know, work hard, get paid, buy toys... what the hell is wrong with that? I work my ass off, I strive to do well to make more $$, and in doing so I am offorded the ability to drive a better can than I could when I wasn't working as hard or making as much $$. 3 years ago I was driving a Mustang. Today, I'm driving a Z06.

But, if you really think the "average man" should have a supercar, then consider the base 'vette coupe. 400hp for under $50k. Sounds like a super deal to me!

Oh, and to the MORON who made a comment about dumping $70k a WS6 or an STi to beat a Z06... you can say that about ANYTHING. In the end, you have a $70k Trans-Am or Suburu waiting to kill the driver when it explodes half-way down the track. With my Z06, however, I'll have one hell of a sports car with a huge shit-eating grin on the grill.

Top six All-American V-8 rollers {Autoblog}

Aug 2nd 2006 8:06PM "-OH yeah because DCX is a bread and butter hamburger and hot dog apple pie eating American company. Yeah right."

So, Dodge is German because it's a DCX company? So does that mean Holden is an American car since it's a GM company?

Look, DCX may be a German-American Hybrid (and since you all like Hybrids these days - that's good, right?), but that doesn't mean that Dodge is German or that Mercedes is American.

And just in case you're keeping track... Toyota having American plants DOES NOT MAKE THEM AN AMERICAN CAR COMPANY.

Or, you can get out of this ticket now if you just admit to the readers here that you're a complete idiot.

GM upgrades OnStar with eye towards fuel economy {Autoblog}

Jul 24th 2006 11:42AM #1: You really think everyone knows what we "car guys" know?

Not too long ago I witnessed a person at a gas station adding coolant to their car. Fortunately for them I made a mad dash to them when I noticed that they had removed the oil fill cap and was about to pour in said coolant. When I asked what they were doing, they said that the gas station attendant told them that adding coolant would likely make the SES light turn off. So, we have a gas station attendant - someone who SHOULD know SOME stuff about cars - providing completely wrong instruction without even getting out of his seat.

The reality is that we're in the minority here. There are a TON of people out there that just don't get it.

Ford first to begin production of hydrogen internal combustion engine {Autoblog}

Jul 17th 2006 6:51PM Let the American bashing begin.

If this were Toyota or Honda, it could be a V-20 producing 1hp mounted in a Civic or Camry and you all would rejoice and proclaim them as the saviors of the world.

Jeff Banks, I agree - give them some latitude. But we all know that won't happen since it's Ford - it would be worse if it were GM.

Dre - you're a moron.

Black Enterprise names Toyota among best companies for diversity {Autoblog}

Jun 15th 2006 10:58PM 1. If they named Toyota "among the best companies for diversity" who did they name among the best for unity? Oh that's right. It isn't cool to talk about unity. It's only cool to talk about diversity.

2. This magazine clearly has biggot / racist agenda deserving of only the worst type of hell possible. I don't care what race you're pushing, if you're a racist black person you're just bad as a racist white person.

3. Jesse Jackson serves no one but himself. The people he claims to help are only hurt by his obvious hatred for anyone but "minorities."

4. These days I wish I were a [insert any sexual preference but straight here] [insert any race other than white here] [insert any religion other than Catholic or Christian here]. That would automatically put me at the top of everyone's cool list. I would even get special laws to protect me. And I could work for Toyota and special recognition from a racist magazine. That would be cool.

Autoblog, you suck.
