HTC Polaris gets specs leaked, renamed the Touch Cruise {Engadget}

Oct 19th 2007 10:28AM I agree, though I don't think that a VGA or better screen is necessary for GPSing - my Nuvi works just great with a QVGA screen. The better screen is necessary for web browsing and working in productivity apps though. I'll never buy another QVGA device.

Have a good Time with your Mercedes CL {Autoblog}

Oct 9th 2006 1:54PM It's a pretty watch, but for that garish Mercedes symbol. IMO branded watches are sort of a catch-22; if you don't own the Merc, it's pretensious. If you own the Merc, it's ostentatious and gauche.

PMC200, the newest media player from Sweden {Engadget}

Oct 8th 2006 4:23PM That screen doesn't look 16:9.

Toshiba SD-580J brings some low-cost HDMI action {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2006 9:14AM Yep. I'm unconvinced by the higher-quality claims of proponants of HDMI. It's just another standard - one that seems designed more to force DRM on consumers than anything to improve quality.

Dad and son game together -- now that's parenting! {Joystiq}

Sep 24th 2006 11:47AM I saw a woman playing a DS with her daughter just the other day on the subway in New York. I think it was Animal Crossing.

Ron Patrick's jet-powered Honda scooter {Engadget}

Aug 17th 2006 11:59AM reminds me of the scooter from Daxter. Cool.

I can't imagine this is actually street legal. It's one thing to make a jet powered bike that uses a turbine to power a shaft to turn the wheel, it's another to be thrust-driven. I certainly wouldn't want to be behind this at a stoplight.

If it's going to be thrust-driven, why not put some wings on it? I'd love to have a little ground effect scooter to hop around on.

Xbox 360 HD DVD drive to cost just $200? {Engadget}

Aug 14th 2006 6:59PM Craig: and you're forgetting the fact that you get a bigger HD and WiFi in the $600 PS3. Actually if you wanted to do an apples-to-apples comparison, you'd be better comparing XBox 360 + HD-DVD = $600, against the PS3 "Core" = $500.

PSP firmware versions 2.5 and 2.6 now downgradeable {Engadget}

Jul 2nd 2006 7:13PM This is bad for Sony. The people who should be the biggest advocates for the system are intentionally 'crippling' their hardware so that they can't play the latest games and trading that addded functionality of running mostly legitimate homebrew software.

Sony needs to meet this halfway. They need to create a signed-homebrew program to bring all the energy from the PSP community in, rather than continually fighting (and losing) the battle that ultimate hurts them and the platform more than any emulator ever could.

PSP cam spotted again -- looking shinier than ever {Engadget}

Jun 30th 2006 1:28PM We get it Kam. You don't want a PSP. I'll make sure to tell Santa not to leave one for you this year.

(if you're going to continue repeating yourself, so will I)

Nintendo's DS Lite gets pretty in pink {Engadget}

Jun 28th 2006 5:10AM Almost average? That's the exact same price as the DS-L Japanese price. The mouse is right there, all you have to do is move it around and click. They call that "research."
