....from a 'self-described' independent institute. More likely a PR firm GM hired. Maybe even same firm that plants 'success' stories about Iraq in newspapers.

Indian automaker indeed targeting U.S. {Autoblog}

Feb 2nd 2007 12:23PM Thanks Avinash for the Autocar review. It sound exactly like the GM reviews in Motor Trend before GM's PR department reviews them prior to publication. Yet, keep your eyes open: cheap/reliable, workhorses are the one thing we're lacking in this Land of Indy500 wannabee paint jobs. The Taliban get the HiLux - we don't?!

Diesel-burning Hyundai on the way? {Autoblog}

Jan 31st 2007 8:58AM Ya, hell - you just go 1.5hrs from Miami and Panama is like Europe; they get all the brands (for only 2mil people?!) and oilers are just as popular as gas - more so for SUVs and PUs.
It may be that that population is pretty concentrated so there's no worry about sending parts from NJ to WA and finding a wrench on the other coast who knows where they go. (remember Citroen in the US...uggg.) They even have a Porsche dealer.

Disagree with the judges? You pick America's Most Beautiful Roadster {Autoblog}

Jan 30th 2007 1:44PM I agree with our host - about the detailing - while also agreeing with #1. Over with the 32's already! ...the winner should have been called America's Most Gaudy. Their taste is in their mouths.

Meguiar's exec claims he was fired over religion {Autoblog}

Jan 28th 2007 12:43PM I thought he was a fruit; the way he 'gushes' all over people. But this is worst: he's full on Christian Taliban...yeech. BTW: Jeff's makes better stuff along with Zaino, etc. anyway.

Ford burns $12.7 BILLION in 2006! {Autoblog}

Jan 25th 2007 12:28PM I feel kinda sorry for them in Stillborn. It took long enough for that nepotistic putz to leave the helm but not before he ran the company onto a sandbar.
.
Then I stopped freeling sorry for them when I found out about that Bee Gee's-do dude, sales director, or whatever, flying to South Beach every weekend on the company jet. It's like: "Who gives a F__. We'll party 'till it's Game Over."
Not on my dime. 2001 was the last time I made a contribution to this bonfire.

Buick Enclave pricing released {Autoblog}

Jan 19th 2007 9:23AM Sorry. When was last time anyone - besides getting a free upgrade at AVIS - got into a Buick ..or surely "went to a dealer to seek one out". The real people have already gone over to Acura and Lexus - a couple years ago already - for this money.
.
It's the 0%/Rebate crowd that will be the first customers ..and that resets the image in stone.. again. Even the Escelade looks like a minkcoat bought at Walmart.

VIDEO: 2008 Hyundai Veracruz B-roll {Autoblog}

Jan 11th 2007 4:08PM Notice how the front end improves in Black vs Silver..lower grill goes away. Looks pretty good for what it is. There's going to be more pressure on the very normal looking Acadia and Outlook from both top and bottom. These guys + H&T have pushed GM and Ford out of the mini-van market: are mid-SUV's next? I'm sure H & T will be happy to let GM keep Escalade.

Lutz claims GM will cut fleet sales by 100k in 2007 {Autoblog}

Jan 10th 2007 11:57AM #6 - Greg: Here's some info from the Heritage Foundation (not your avg. Commie men's club..)

In 1999, the average farm household earned $64,437--17 percent more than the $54,842 average for non-farmers. Incomes were even higher among the 136,000 households with annual farm sales over $250,000--and who also receive the largest subsidies. Their 1999 average income of $135,397 was two-and-a-half times the national average. Farmer incomes are not only high, but also quite stable from year to year, despite agricultural market fluctuations.
.
Greater wealth. The average farm household had a net worth of $563,563 in 1999--well above the $88,000 national average.

......and it's a crock that boosting the price of corn because General Mills will compete with Exxon ethanol buyers will be good for the country. It only means that your V-8 Mustang will get fewer MPG and Corn Flakes will double in price ...all the while Willy Nelson will still have concerts for 'poor' farmers. Drill off FL, NC and Martha's Vineyard if you want to punish Venezula.
