Toyota scores first official NASCAR Sprint Cup win {Autoblog}

Mar 18th 2008 11:48PM Tagg,
You might not care about the pedrigree of ESC, you might not care that you're engine's metallurgy is better than a race car from the 70s. But the reason that many of the modern electronics, and systems work so well and so consistintly is because of F1. Do you think engineers would have ever found the proper amount of tire deceleration for ABS if not for F1? I'd argue that it would have taken longer if not for f1. F1 puts engineers on the edge of technology, they must learn about everything, and many of the things we saw about two decades ago in formula 1 (and seen first in formula 1) are showing up in even entry level cars. If it weren't for Formula 1's genius engineers, we might not have devoloped many of modern automotive technologies that you take for granted.

Geneva 2008: Bentley's future involves drawing straw {Autoblog}

Mar 4th 2008 5:22PM Dear Bentley,

Ahem *cough* manual transmissions *cough*. I ain't talkin' bout no three on the tree. I'm talking about like 4 on the floor, lol. Just kidding, but honestly, manual and let's face it, the only automatic transmission that can hold a candle to a proper manual is a CVT.

Feb 25th 2008 7:30PM Check out the Yamaha Rhino, it's awesome. I have one and I get the feeling that it'll never break. I've heard that some dudes race Baja in them, with some mods though.

Dinan strokes the M5/M6's V10 to 5.7-liters, 628 hp {Autoblog}

Dec 24th 2007 4:18PM At what point does someone drop in a fire-breathing demon tuned 427? Honestly, paying 40k to get horsepower by means of displacement, at what point do you realise that you can get a lighter/faster/cheeper American engine for half the price?

VIDEO: 0-60 mag gets first crack at Corvette ZR1 {Autoblog}

Dec 22nd 2007 2:52PM This car is fast, there is no doubt in that statement. Mayhaps, the GM engineers could have spent some time making it sound... uhh... cool/good/fast? I've driven mini vans that sound more racy.

Nov 14th 2007 8:55PM This has to be a joke. I can imagine some people sitting around "Let's join this supercar melee, LOL!!1!" and their friend is all like "Ya, let's just blow facts out of our ass! Well smash a Camaro and Supera togeater and say it be havin' 500 hp, FTW"
"Let's do 1000"
"1850!"
"Okay, any objections? No? Then it's settled, lets go take recrational drugs and draw it out."
"Damn, I had my heart set on 2000 hp, we were almost there, fudge it, I will just annonce a 2000 hp engine down the road"

2009 Jaguar XF will range from $49,975 to $62,975 {Autoblog}

Nov 14th 2007 8:35PM This post is about Jaguars, no need to add any smug.

Catch "Travolta Fever" on eBay {Autoblog}

Nov 11th 2007 2:24PM Meaning it makes its torque with fuel (lots of it) and is the offical ride of badasses (well, before the mods). A Prius is all practical, and attempts to help the environment. Whereas a Firebird/Trans-Am could probably run on endangered animals, and rain forests.

Holden VE Wagon and HSV Ute Maloo peeked at presentation {Autoblog}

Aug 27th 2007 9:19PM Bummer. I would be thrilled if GM had a honda-esque engine, even more so if it was right and proper with rear wheel drive.

Aug 27th 2007 8:07PM The 6.0l V8s are cool and all, but 255 h.p in the base V6? A 2.5l V6, mind you. What's up with that? Forced induction?
