Tesla Saga continues: When is production car #2 not? {Autoblog Green}

May 12th 2008 1:09PM Funny thing is that Tesla's innovation has nothing to do with the engineering and everything to do with the financials. In the end, however, the jury is still out as to whether Tesla can actually become a mainstream manufacturer. Given this sort of infighting, pushing out the visionary founder and the general lack of true gearheads at Tesla, I think Fisker is going to win this battle.

I actually wrote a blog post about this yesterday here: http://alwayson.goingon.com/permalink/post/27029

Obama picks worst car ever to come out of Motown {Autoblog}

May 7th 2008 11:50AM yes, because the current government is so small and thrifty....

Score! New Mayor of London a true motorhead {Autoblog}

May 5th 2008 12:49PM He's the most popular politician in Britain. I quite sure he's not considered a boob. A buffoon, maybe, but not a boob.

When he was once asked if he actually was a buffoon, he said "You cannot discount that under this elaborately constructed veneer of a blithering idiot, there lies a blithering idiot."

Brilliant.

Eurospares: Exoticar slaughterhouse? Parts heaven? Both! {Autoblog}

May 3rd 2008 4:52AM My dad actually owned one of those. It was fast, much faster than most anything of that vintage. We once took it up to 140mph on a disused runway.

Oh, and it sounded like nothing else when it was in tune. Which was not often, there was a reason the owners manual explain how to tune the six double barreled Webers.

My dad finally sold it just as 3rd gear synchro started to go.

Hardly a piece of Euro trash, really. But I'm sure your Toyota Camry is far more exciting to drive...

Weber Sportcars "faster one" supercar ready for customers {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2008 12:31PM What all of these pop-up supercar companies don't realize is that the trick that the Veyron pulled off, and that no one will be able to duplicate for eons, is NOT that's 'it's so fast to 60 or goes 250 mph'.

The real trick is that ANYONE (yes, even your grandmother) can exploit these capabilities...

Oh, and the looks of that car seem to be in part driven by the fact that it's nearly impossible to have curved laminate tempered glass for automotive use if you are not a large carmaker. But flat glass is very available and easy to cut to size.

Sorry, your SUV is now worthless {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2008 11:04AM Hmm, I used to live in northern Maine and I drove a RWD car. Not really a problem, it went many places that you would think it could not.

Like others said, it's really up to the driver more than anything else.

Audi launches Sportscar Experience at Infineon Raceway {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2008 12:41AM This is not new, I went to it in October. Actually, Audi has 60 locations where they do this, including Sears Point (aka Infineon) since last fall.

Chris.

Miata? Impractical? BAH! {Autoblog}

Apr 27th 2008 2:58PM I once moved a washing machine in the back of a VW Golf convertible. Because there were three of us (try lifting a washing machine with just two people, esp. up stairs...), one person had to sit on top of the machine.

Classic.

Audi announces new A3 will reach U.S. in Fall {Autoblog}

Apr 24th 2008 10:05PM Too bad the quattro is only available with the automatic....
