May 21st 2008 10:19AM I was reading vwvortex forums earlier and they were stating that the diesel EPA figures had something like an 18% margin of error . Personally, I know that this TDI will get much better than the EPA estimates and that maybe this will deter a few more people from getting them so I can get a better price on one.

If you're a highway driver, diesel is the way to go... and for the city, the Prius is better.
These diesels, according to a lot of owners, end up getting better mileage than the estimate on the window.
This same engine that will be coming in the Jetta later this year detuned to 140 hp is rated at mid 50's mpg on the highway according to the vw site:
"Fuel Efficient Available 2.0L TDI® Clean Diesel offers mid-50s MPG on the highway*, yet it meets some of the strictest environmental standards on the planet. Something to think about during those long pauses between fill-ups. *EPA estimates. Your mileage may vary. "

Feb 21st 2008 10:56AM 0 in Delaware is reserved for the Governor. I know it's idiotic to spend a lot on a plate but those black and white DE plates are actually ceramic and you can only get them with 5 digits or less (A. they are the original DE plate design B. they are a vanity plate which costs in the neighborhood of $75). I had someone approach me because I have a 5 digit plate and they offered me $150 to switch the plate registration to them.
I declined because my time to go through that hassle was worth more...
for papercut... DE has its pros and cons like everywhere... Tax free shopping (although 2.75% on cars)... Dewey beach...apparently you haven't been there!
