The fact that you have made 2 mistakes in 2 posts shows you have no clue what you are talking About.

Passat had a W8 NOT W12

Passat is in A4/3-Series/C-Class/IS-Series/G-Series Category. NOT A6 League

A6 is in 5-Series/E-Class/GS-Series/M-Series Category

2 mistakes in 2 posts shows that you are Ignorant but just like to post

Nov 15th 2006 9:26AM THANK YOU GLENN

Finally somebody who understands what is going on here.
I used to be the first to Laugh my head off at the Americans, now I am Eating Humble Pie.

Thing Is. I am 100% certain that there are a lot of Backhanders taking place between Ministers and Big Business over here. How else can you explain the fact that a Lot Of Civilians can see that the Reasons given for certain Actions are not Logical and every Year The UK Government changes its Position on a Decision it made the previous Year.

Seat Leon Cupra offers more for less than the GTI {Autoblog}

Nov 14th 2006 8:22PM What you get as Standard in the SEAT is much more than what you get in the VW

Example:
Standard in the UK
Golf 1.9 TDI 5 Door
Manual Rear Windows/ No Driver Info Display/ No Cruise Control/ No Climate/ No alloy Wheels/ 5-Speed GBox

Seat Leon 2.0 TDI 5 Door ( Costs Less Than Golf 1.9 TDI)
All Electric Windows/ Driver Info Display/ Cruise Control/ Climate Control/ Power Fold Mirrors/ Better Sound System/ Alloy Wheels/ 6-Speed GBox

See What I Mean :-)

Nov 14th 2006 8:05PM Look. I live in the UK and i can assure you all this scheme has nothing whatsoever to do with Easing Gridlock & Congestion. It is and has always been about REVENUE GENERATION.

Facts are:
More Congestion & Gridlock are caused on London Roads from Roadworks and Bus Lanes than from actual Vehicle Quantities (These Roadworks are usually Inefficient and unnecessary, just more money for construction companies)

Buses & Black Cabs are the Worst Polluters on London Roads and the way the Bus Lanes are marked out, they cause the most amount ofGridlock.

People are going to use what is convinent for them and an SUV that seats 7 is better fo the school run than a Smart ForTwo. so will have no option but to pay these Fees. ( Remember We also pay Exorbitant Fuel Duties so this is a form of Multiple Taxation)

Finaly you have to see the history behind this Situation.
The group charged with Examining the London Traffic problems is being Sponsored by the Transportation Companies so it is CLEAR that their findings / Prescribed Solutions would be heavily biased in favour of Plubic Transportation Systems.

So what has happened is that first the current Road Network has been more than halved by Marking a huge portion of them Bus Lanes Only/ Then reglar residential roads have been sectioned into Parking Bays and you have to Pay an annual fee just to park on your Street or if you are visiting, then you Pay at a Machine on the street (Failure to display a Parking Permit or Ticket will result in you getting a Penalty notice or your Vehicle Towed Away £50 for the former and £200 for the latter)

An AMAZING array of cameras with License Plate Recognition Software are arranged over every possible entrance into Central London and Every Vehicle that goes past those cameras is checked and if it is not a BlackCab or Police Vehicle or Emergency Vehicle (Fire Engines/Ambulances etc) it is logged into the system and if by 10.00pm you have not payed your £8 Congestion Charge, the fee goes up to £10 and after Midnight £50 (After Numerous Complaints over 4 years the system has now been modified so you can pay the following day if you forgot on the initial day)

Oh, I forgot. If you happen to live within the area Designated the "Congestion Charge Area" If you move your vehicle then you have to pay £2 for the day, so that is an extra £730 for somebody like myself who just happens to live in the area and drive everyday (Can you say Stealth Tax)

Bottom Line is.
This Government Generated over £37 Billion GPB from Vehicle/Road & Fuel Duties from UK car Drivers yet they invested less than £7 Billion in Road Maintenance, What the hell did they do with the rest of the money ??

Nov 13th 2006 5:41PM Where do you guys come up with all that RWD is better than FWD Bull ??

There are no advantages to RWD in normal vehicles, Especially in LOW GRIP Conditions where the FWD vehicle has an Advantage hence the popularity in Europe & UK

4WD/AWD will always be the best for Traction so I will leave that alone.

For High Performance Vehicles/Engines the FWD option is not so good as the Torque Steer and UnderSteering Tendencies will not suffice for good Driving Dynamics but for anything up to about 250Bhp FWD is Better than RWD.

"I don't know much really about the 'ring, but is it public? and if it is, why wouldn't they have some sort of tech inspection to ensure both the driver's safety and that of the track"

Maybe because the decision for a driver to go on a Track and Drive His/Her Vehicle hard should be just that, His/Her Decision.

I guess the fact that they cannot sue the Track Owners/Operators if they drove an unsafe vehicle and hurt themselves makes a lot of people act responsibly and check out their vehicles prior to them entering the Track

( The actual fact that you think the Race Track should provide somebody who should check out your vehicle for you and decide if it is safe for you to go racing around a Track with shows Exactly how much Personal Responsibility has Decayed in North America)

Nov 5th 2006 5:57PM Thank You For Your Insightful Riposte.

You have shown many readers on this site how much actual Fact is in the contents of your Posts and how much of it is Opinion.

Nov 5th 2006 1:55PM What I find interesting is this notion that the US Economy is Fine
How is it that when a developing Country owes $35 Billion Dollars to the World Bank (Nigeria in the Late 1980s), It is forced to apply policies that harm its economy all in the effort to repay its debts as soon as possiblle ??

But the USA can owe 100 times that amount and still be spending obscene amounts of money on a few companies that are Profiteering on a War and Nobody Seems to Notice this ??

Like I have said many times before, The true Extent of the Damage will be Felt Only After This Administration Leaves The White House.
