Mar 29th 2007 9:21AM #21 you are correct. It must have the LGT engine and the LGT's VF40 turbo which produces 243 BHP. This is also why the torque comes on at 2800 rpms just like the current LGT.
They are underrating the engine for advertising/insurance reasons. Also, they *could* have detuned the ECU mapping which would explain the increase in MPG.
Dont worry its the same motor, so a ECU reflash will give the same performance. Stage 2 (reflash and removing 1 cat) = 300 Lb-ft w/ a good tune on the current LGT, expect the same on the 08 WRX.

Mar 29th 2007 9:05AM the grill is *BLACK* not chrome. The "photos" are over processed and they exagerated the grill w/ light. There are other pictures of it, and the grill is 100% BLACK. Only the top portion by the logo and the outline of the whole grill has chrome.

Feb 15th 2007 4:02PM #3 - I agree that getting rid of the LGT Wagon was a bad idea, even though financially it makes sense. However, the Outback 2.5XT is more than sufficient. It is as fast as the LGT Wagon, looks great, and can haul a ton. Also it is the ultimate sleeper. sub 6sec 0-60 and no cop would look at it twice. Oh and its the 3.0R that has a H6 not the GT which stays the 2.5GT and 2.5GT Spec.B.

2008 WRX STi Hatch
Sounds good to me. Hopefully they will be as agressive looking as the Evo X. If so then this 2005 WRX sedan owner will be driving at hatch in '08!

Feb 7th 2007 11:21AM Andreas Zapatinas did *NOT* design the current models.
"Subaru's chief designer, Andreas Zapatinas, has resigned, effective the end of last month, but it is believed he was fired.
Rowley says Zapatinas was not responsible for the propeller theme: the Impreza and Tribeca designs were well advanced when the former Alfa and Fiat designer joined the Japanese carmaker.
Rowley says the first Zapatinas design is the next Impreza, due next year." -carsguide.au

Nov 21st 2006 10:45AM Did anyone notice that this car is a rip off of the Pontiac G6?
Look at the belt-line and windows how they flow and are angled just like the G6. Even the Tail-lights look like the G6 and Cobalt's.
Overall I like the front end and of the car. Are those Project Mu brakes? nice choice.

Oct 10th 2006 10:45AM Why are the rear tires so big if it is Front Wheel Drive?
900whp and its only going 0-60 in 4.5? That would be the result of Wrong-Wheel Drive (FWD).

Sep 2nd 2006 1:09PM Those are not the new headlights. Those are US headlights w/ the amber removed. They are not the 07 JDM/EDM headlights (notice it doesnt curve at the side).
The scoop is not going to make it to production. That is merely there for testing.
The bumper is from a non-US H6 model.
There are a few theories:
1) Testing how much air they need for a new LGT intercooler.
2) This is just a test mule shell for the new Impreza
a) large scoop for large sti intercooler
b) exhaust pipes cant be found b/c they are very short as the new Impreza is based off a shortened LGT chassis.

Jul 8th 2006 12:26PM #18 - They most likely use a shorty intake that goes from the bumper right into the SC (look at the car and you can see a whole in the bumper for the intake to get air). The other pipes are from the Intercooler to the engine.
#20 - I hope you are using engine management to turn up the boost. Just because you can turn it up to 25psi doesnt mean your going to get better performance.
