Mitsubishi set to close Australian plant {Autoblog}
Feb 5th 2008 11:54AM A real pitty as this is a very very nice car to drive. Hoprfully the Chinese or some other country will by the manufacturing plant and will update the styling. As for the workers who are the most loyal around I hope the find new jobs soon. This shows the changing world in Australia as the Corolla toped the sales charts in January, in fact Toyota out sold both Gm and Ford products combined. Ford must be very worried about it's new Falcon due out in a couple of weeks. It should be a great car but will any one buy it? take care David.
Toyota down with Ford alliance - if Ford asks first {Autoblog}
Jan 17th 2007 2:53PM Hi you must remember when Toyota was an infant in the auto business Ford opend its door to show them how the Americans build cars. Many of the Toyota early managment spent quite some time observing how Ford America built cars. So it might be pay back time, besides Ford is no threat to Toyota. regards David.

Ford FPV brings more power, handling to the Aussies {Autoblog}
Oct 26th 2006 5:01PM Ford US is very silly when it comes to it cars built overseas. The falcon is a great car for the money along with the GM commodore it is the type of cars the Us need, Police cars Taxis etc. Ford Australia needs to sell more cars as it has just cut back production lay off might follow. It needs to export the falcon and teritory models to survive. But the good old head office in Usa will only let it export to a limited number of right hand drive markets, how silly. Toyota in Australia builds it Camry in lhd and rhd and exports more than it sells locally and with the brilliant Aurion coming next month it's market share will only increase. You have to export to new markets to survive otherwise Ford Australia might end up like it parent company in deep trouble. Just as Mitsubishi is in Australia. regards David.
