May 13th 2008 9:30AM "Ontario's economy is going to look a lot like Michigan's if there's not some changes made sooner. Waiting until the economy as a whole is behind the eight ball is not wise planning."
Actually the replacements for these 4 speeds transmissions are being built in Michigan.
Toyota responds to Ford's new initial quality ads {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 10:48AM There are old Toyotas around? I thought most rusted into oblivion like other Japanese cars.
Toyota responds to Ford's new initial quality ads {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 10:46AM I think it is bad marketing whenever an autocompany compres itself with another company that has a better reputation for a certain characteristic.
I think the G-8 ads essentially saying its a cheap BMW are terrible. Who wantes the cheap-o version of anything? The Hyundai ads that are similar are just as bad.
Ford saying they are now "as good as Toyota" are terrible. Nobody will buy that based on an add. There are areas in qualioty that Ford can brag about, but it should not be "Hey, we have finally caught up."
The big three don't need advertising agencies, they need to hire some campaign managers, so they can quit acting like whimps. Some of these ads remind me of Dukakis riding around in the tank.

May 6th 2008 4:12PM Nobody from Detroit or Toyota City put a gun to the heads of the people in LA and forced them to buy a certain car, or any car at all.
If the air in LA is poluted it is the people of LA's fault.
Quit being a hypocrit and take responsibility for your own actions.

May 5th 2008 4:46PM This Motor Trend article is based on speculation done prior to the announcement that CAFE would be based on wheelbase - not weight as was previously done. A long wheelbase car with decent mileage may work well under the new standards. The longer/wider the better, as longer cars will have lower standards to meet.
Kerkorian's boy says Ford should offload Mercury, Volvo {Autoblog}
May 2nd 2008 1:35PM Maybe fold up shop for Mercury or just sell those models under the Lincoln name. Lincoln is not really luxury anymore anyway. Or have Mercury sell Ford's Europian makes under the Mercury label.
Ford should not sell Volvo, especially now that they platform share so much.
York is another wall street butt-head who doesn't understand the car buisness. Kinda like everyone at Chrysler.

To help Toyota spread the illusion that they care about the environment.
