Nov 7th 2006 12:45AM My machine is one of the early serial numbers. I haven't experienced any of the above problems, but my iMac does have another problem. It shuts down instead of going to sleep. Another message board hinted this might also be covered under this program. Anyone else heard this?

Oct 9th 2006 2:45PM The support team for OnTour just emailed me a file that totally fixed the problems on my G5 iMac. If anyone else is having trouble, just file a report at the ontour support site.

Oct 8th 2006 11:29PM Got a quick response back from their tech support. But after following instructions (below), mine still doesn't work...
Thank you so much for contacting us! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing and want you to know we're determined to help.
One issue we've identified as a possible trigger for this error is storing music on an external hard drive. If you keep your music library on an external drive, these instructions may not solve the problem. If this the case, and the instructions below do not solve the issue please let us know. We are working for a permanent fix to that issue.
We recommend re-downloading and installing the latest version from www.ontour.net. If that does not solve the problem, please do the following:
1. Click 'Manage Widgets' on the dashboard.
2. Delete the OnTour widget.
3. Delete the OnTour cookie:
- Open the Finder
- Go to - Library - Preferences
- Delete the widget-net.ontour.widget.plist file
4. Install new widget. Download available at www.ontour.net/download.

Car Buyers would like return option {Autoblog}
Sep 27th 2006 11:34AM I like the borrowing/renting idea. I'd love to rent a car I was interested in for a few days, try it out and return it. If I wanted to purchase it, the dealer could put my rental fee toward a down payment. If not interested, walk away with only a little money spent.
That said, however, I think a lot of buyer's remorse is due to two factors:
1. Insufficient research by the buyer. They find their car cheaper elsewhere and regret paying more or they didn't know enough (reliability, options, etc) about their desired car before buying.
2. Pushy sales. I know several people who have bought vehicles not because it was what they wanted, but becasue their salesperson pushed them into it. Sure, we, the informed carbuying pubic can usually resist their tactics (see #1 for the main reason), but many people wander the car lots until they see something they like then get bullied into buying. A friend of mine is a good example. Went to buy a sedan, came home with a humongous SUV because the dealer "made her a deal." Now she's truly regretting the purchase.

And I'm with JB on the fender vent. Just because Land Rover and Jaguar did it, doesn't mean it looks good on a Saturn. Leave the fake vents to Oldsmobile, PAG and overdone Mustang variants.

No. You'd have to be a fool to think a Honda is only better because of its badge. I'd be much more willing to drop $27k on a utilitarian Honda that will last 10 years with no problems than on a luxurious Ford that might outlast the loan.
