Audi R8 race car to tackle Nürburgring 24 hrs {Autoblog}
May 17th 2008 9:35AM The effect of the wide body kit on the rear 'shoulders' combined with the racing wheels and tires is simply awesome!
BlackBerry 9000 gets extended interface video tour {Engadget}
May 12th 2008 2:15PM Not bad but nothing revolutionary.
I can't see what people like about the interface - it looks like a cross between windows mobile and DOS! The long horizontal rows of monochromatic app icons aren't going to be instantly recognisable in a everyday use.
If RIM doesn't innovate soon they I think business users will start waking up to the other push devices becoming available.
Weber Sportcars "faster one" supercar ready for customers {Autoblog}
Apr 30th 2008 12:58PM Looks just like a fat kid sat on the bonnet.
I also can't see how in any way it is the world's fastest street legal car - not 0-60, not 0-100, not top speed and it's unlikely that it handles better than a Caparo T1.
I don't really see the appeal of the majority of these more-or-less unusable track cars, which are road legal.
I think that there are exceptions like the Ascari A10 and the Caparo (which doesn't pretend to be 'supercar').
Give me a 'slow' Enzo/Zonda/Murcielago over this any day!
Keepin' it real fake, part CIX: C-002 HiPhone ups the ante {Engadget}
Feb 6th 2008 12:21PM That's so lame words can't begin to express it.
I hope Apple sues them so far into the ground that everyone involved in the project wished they'd never heard of an iPhone.
China really needs crack down on all the cloning outfits that operate in their country.
Garmin gets official with its nuvifone {Engadget}
Jan 31st 2008 5:25AM Very impressed - just six things that worry me:
No mention of video support.
HSDPA + GPS + fairly slim = lousy battery life.
No mention of internal storage.
No mention of internet browsing (might have missed this).
Proietary OS based on other Nuvis = not going to be an open software platform.
Probably no cool eye candy effects like iPhone google maps page curl.
Despite that list, I still think this is a great product - particularly if you can use it as a 3G modem / GPS adapter for a laptop.
Fix the Leopard folders? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 12th 2007 11:15AM You know I think that they're very sophisticated and attractive.
I agree that they could be a little more distinctive (enabling you to tell what they are at a quick glance) but I don't think that color would work well with the design.
Having actually seen them in Leopard, I must say that the detail is awesome, particularly in Cover Flow.
My one gripe is that making new folder icons is now more difficult! Whereas before it was rather easy to just layer your color graphics atop of the folder icon, now, in some cases you have to recreate graphic elements and apply individual inner shadows, embossing etc. to maintain 'the look' ...arg.
Apple lowers price of 8 gig iPhone to $399 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 5th 2007 3:47PM Wha! No UK iPhone announcement!
I hope that this price drop is reflected WHEN they do finally find their way accross the pond.
Maybe we'll see a 16GB variant before too long as well.
Dekra D-Drive bike trades the chain for direct-drive {Engadget}
Jun 21st 2006 9:20AM Heard of a bash guard? Stops the your trousers getting caught up (as well as primarily protecting your chain rings!).
Not going to be of much use with full-sussers yet because thins thing's not going to allow for any chain growth.
Hopefully one day it will become a good solution for 'proper' bikes but I guess the casual rider can benefit from not getting greasy trousers until then!
