Honda CR-Z brochure leaks out, production specs revealed {Autoblog}
Dec 9th 2009 12:56AM I just looked at the pics again, and - sorry folks - I just don't like it. It looks too much like an anteater with that protruding mouth/grille. But even that could have been overlooked if the car had been fitted with a hot engine (NOT a hybrid). And when is all this 'hybrid' crap going to end? Electric cars, hybrids . . . are there really that many customers for these kinds of vehicles? I, for one, don't want a hybrid (or an electric) and will not buy one. This must be some sort of politically-correct garbage being shoved down the throats of car buyers by some bureaucrat, greeney(!).
VIDEO: Jay Leno gets behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG {Autoblog}
Dec 8th 2009 3:43PM Yeah...but did you notice? Every opportunity the videographer had to show the car from the side (literally 90-degrees to the perpendicular) they cut away. You know why? They didn't want you to see the absurd proportions of the car . . . the ridiculously l-o-n-g nose. It's comical looking(!)
Honda CR-Z brochure leaks out, production specs revealed {Autoblog}
Dec 8th 2009 3:25PM What a shame. Honda has produced some very hot interesting cars over the years (I currently own a gen-5 Prelude) and even the CRX (ne: CRZ) line has been desirable little cars. But no more(!). I don't know what's happened to Honda, but - personally - I'm no longer interested in the brand. Especially if the upcoming Toyota coupe (supposedly to be named 'Celica') looks anywhere near the prototype. Honda's problem is that they may be becoming too much of a Chrysler replacement in ranking and (apparently) they feel they have to produce as boring cars as the folks at the pentastar(!). Oh well, at least Honda had a good 30-year run at making exciting cars. Too bad it's over . . .
Chevy Volt: The Song {Autoblog}
Dec 7th 2009 11:07PM Damn . . . that's one ugly car. The dimensions are all fat, heavy, bloated looking. It's like a baked potato on wheels(!)...actually it's so poorly styled that it appears to weigh somewhere in the 3-ton range, like around 6,000 pounds.
Spy Shots: Baby Buick sedan caught in Germany {Autoblog}
Dec 4th 2009 2:57PM I'm wondering why so many of the new designs - especially from U.S. manufacturers - look so fat? This new Buick looks like a little tub of a car(!)
REPORT: Infiniti still mulling production Essence coupe {Autoblog}
Dec 4th 2009 11:51AM I REALLY hope Infiniti (Nissan) decides to build this car. It's much more exciting - and hopefully won't be priced in the half-million dollar bracket - and an apt competitor to the LF-A. Besides, the world needs cars from Asia to compete against the Aston Martins, Ferraris, Lambos, Mercedes of this world. The Europeans shouldn't dominate the class.
LA 2009: Custom "Mazdaspeed2" tops the fun-per-pound charts in LA {Autoblog}
Dec 4th 2009 9:07AM What's with Mazda's "smiley face" front end design(s)? It looks horrid on every car they've applied it to(!)
Mercedes and McLaren bid farewell to SLR, each other {Autoblog}
Dec 3rd 2009 1:09PM I agree with some of you - wish it was MOST of you - who bemoan the parting of this relationship. The McLaren cars are a lot better looking than that bland, dated-looking new gullwing that just came out(!)
REPORT: Chevrolet Cruze SS being pushed for hard by company insiders {Autoblog}
Dec 3rd 2009 7:31AM I agree with some who note that the car's name "Cruse" is a poor choice, that it denotes family-sedan boredom. And I also agree that an SS version would somewhat like an oxymoron as I am one who is lamenting the demise of the Cobalt SS. GM would be better off leaving the bland and generic looking Cruse to fight it out with the relatively uninteresting class of vehicles it will compete against (and have a hard time winning customers agains the likes of the just-announced Hyuandi Sonata...which is a sharp looking car!). The poor Cruse is starting out life with two strikes against it, both leveled at its attempts at success by it's manufacturer. It has to carry the baggage of bland design and a stupid name.
LA 2009: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, mass-market potential has four doors {Autoblog}
Dec 2nd 2009 7:39AM Some of you guys have to be kidding(!). You actually think this is a good looking car? Are you nuts? This is one of the most bland looking vehicles GM has produced (in a long line of ho-hum designs) in years. It's a 'safe' design, inoffensive but a design whose life span will be short. It's just too middle-of-the-road and will look as boring in five years as it does now. But this seems to be the 'norm' at Chevrolet. The Impala is generic looking to a fault, so is the horrid looking Volt. About the only thing designers at Chevrolet are capable of doing reasonably well are it's sporty cars (Camaro and Corvette). And, yes, I'll admit the Silverado isn't a bad looking truck. But 'family' sedans? They have a long way to go before they'll get my money! I'll stick with the imports despite GM's advertising tag line ("...may the best car win!"). Indeed . . . for my investment, the 'best car' is not a GM product.
