Sep 22nd 2008 2:10PM VW has a tendency to over estimate 0-60 times. The MK V GTI was rated by VW for 7.2 seconds and I believe Automobile magazine as well as others pulled 0-60 in the low 6 second range.
This is a very similar (if not identical) platform to the MK V, and I'd be surprised if the new ones gain more than 50 lbs over the last generation...

Aug 20th 2008 12:54PM I think the point Obama was trying to make in his tire inflation statement was not how much inflation and tuning would help, but how LITTLE offshore drilling would help if we don't change out consumption (our worldwide consumption continues to outpace new oil discovered, regardless of drilling. period.)
Either way, reading through these comments has led me to the conclusion that ABG should stick to what it does best, and not get into politics....

May 13th 2008 12:26AM Alright, so I think we can all safely conclude that many '99-'02 VW products (mexican or not) had issues, mainly with supplier parts. I have owned several VW/Audi products (when I last checked, my family's 3 VWs and 2 Audis total over 900,000 miles on original drivetrains), and I, along with many other savvy consumers would personally avoid these model years, but no, please, let's keep flogging this dead horse...
