In the Books: 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans (Spoilers) {Autoblog}

Jun 15th 2008 11:10PM Well Derek, that was not their first 24 Hours of Le Mans and they did not finish 2 & 3 last year, which, WAS their first. And Za? I did watch almost the entire Speed Broadcast of the race and in case you didn't realize (or know anything about racing)...Peugeot set up their car in a manner that made it unsuitable for wet weather. Yet everyone KNEW it was going to rain well before the race started. Peugeot just did not have the experience ENDURANCE racing and made a number of mistakes.
Please read and think about what was said in a comment before responding with inane remarks.

Jun 15th 2008 1:08PM Actually I was talking about how they designed and set up the car. The small radiators and inlet ducts allow for lots of speed but are not ideal for endurance racing. The fact that they set the car up to be as fast as possible in the dry and didn't think about how it would handle in the rain, which, we all knew was coming, was a serious mistake.
But I agree completely, that 908 is an impressive car and it provided the best battle I've ever seen for that top step.

Jun 15th 2008 11:21AM Peugeot forgot they were ENDURANCE racing and made the car to bas fast as possible over a single lap. They must have ignored the rain reports when they set up that car.

The Stepneygate postmortem -- what really happened in the F1 espionage scandal {Autoblog}

May 22nd 2008 8:02PM This article is pretty good but incomplete. It makes absolutely no mention of the fact that Renault was caught with Mclaren technical data at the same time and received no punishment whatsoever while McLaren was fined 100 mil and lost their constructor's points for the year (which earns them money). It was this fact that illustrated just what Stoddart said, FIA - Ferrari International Assistance.

RIP: Super Aguri F1 Team folds due to lack of funds {Autoblog}

May 6th 2008 1:48PM Unfortunately it's no surprise with the way Ecclestone is managing the sport and it's funds. Small teams are dropping like flies. He is making it a manufacturer sport while at the same time insulting the manufacturers. That being said, it does seem that a fair number of teams get into the sport completely underestimating the costs and difficulty of running a modern F1 team.

SYNC retrofit kit now available for 2008 Navigator, Mustang next {Autoblog}

May 2nd 2008 1:05AM I cannot believe Ford has yet to give this system to Mazda and Volvo. Look at the numbers, Mazda is just about the only good thing Ford has going on right now and they refuse to hand this system over because they want people to think of Ford and it's American brands. Mazda has been providing the platforms for Ford's best cars for several years now and what does Mazda get? Screwed.

BYD introduces the Keyless Entry Wristwatch {Autoblog}

Apr 24th 2008 6:32PM Well that tagline is patently false. Aston Martin is giving DBS (James Bond's car for the last and upcoming film) buyers a limited edition Jaeger LeCoultre that does locks and unlocks the doors. This was announced last year.

I really wish people would think before they say things.
