Your oil dollars at work - $9.8 million license plate auction in the UAE {Autoblog}
May 7th 2008 8:46PM Didt it ever occured to anyone that there could've been a better reason for the auction than just plain vanity?
From the previous one, which raised 14 mi., just for license "1":
"Proceeds from the auction go toward building a specialized emergency hospital in the U.A.E."
Yeap:

Cadillac bringing ethanol hybrid chopper to LA Auto Show {Autoblog}
May 6th 2008 9:44PM You're right, irony is dumb (caution, this might be an ironic comment, itself).
Still, trying to push the idea that ethanol is a solution (and an "ecologic" one, to boot) has nothing dumb in it, that's just plain criminal.
Btw, you might also want to ask brazilians about it, health wise, without forgetting that, being an alcohol, it's fumes are highly corrosive, as well ("New York, New York"...).
"No one is perfect" indeed, just that, insisting in a stupid, criminal idea only because, being a "miraculous" novelty (which isn't), it grabs the attention of idiots, is actually plain cynical hypocrisy.

Ford Europe launches new top shelf Mondeo - the Titanium X Sport {Autoblog}
May 6th 2008 2:32PM To give you an idea, in Portugal, the manufacturer's price for the Audi A5 coupé was just below 27.000 €, the final all inclusive (VAT, registration, etc.) price? 80.000 € (plus a few € for recycling fees (tires, etc.))...
Taxes have changed, though, now you pay less on purchase and more yearly.

Spied? BMW M1 Prototype caught undisguised (maybe) {Autoblog}
May 4th 2008 10:18PM Definitely a rendering, in my view: those reflections are just too perfect (and there's no license plate, in the front at least, either - what would be the point of sending a car somewhere if it weren't to drive it around?).
