"Quit looking at the dash and just bury the pedal. You can get the stats when you're done!"

Innuendo Alert: Jenna Jameson's Lamborghini sold on eBay {Autoblog}

Apr 6th 2008 4:14PM "in the interviews I've seen with her she tends to come off as a cunt. She's got an ego bigger than Gene Simmons."

Hmmm... I think you needed to edit out some of those words. It probably should have come out simply as:

"cunt. bigger than Gene Simmons."

Pics Aplenty: Land Rover Defender SVX {Autoblog}

Apr 5th 2008 5:15PM Is there an off-road vehicle available that costs 3 x as much as a Defender?

Maybe an H1 Alpha.

Mar 21st 2008 12:57PM I think the Defender is a better choice than some of the others. The clean look of its ruggedness embodies the go-anywhere attitude that has made it a staple on every continent. It's not sports-car pretty, to be sure, but I'd take one if it were available state-side in a diesel...

Jeep Performance may offer diesel engine swap kit for Wrangler {Autoblog}

Mar 18th 2008 3:15PM Ah, nothing like an intelligent yet fair-minded comment to really stimulate the discussion. Clearly you are a man of learning and honor, Jim Gray, as well as an inspiration to us all.
Long live the Queen, douche bag.

Mar 13th 2008 7:20PM 1, the diesel has been more than proven, just not on our continent.

2, "People who own wrangler's shouldn't concern themselves with fuel economy."

What? Really? I must be the only person that owns a jeep, uses it daily, and isn't so insanely rich or stupid that I care how much gas it uses...

3. I want my Jeep simple, which makes diesel v. hybrid easy. A hybrid computer malfunction 30 miles from the nearest road is not a good thing. A diesel is oodles more reliable and tested than any hybrid.

3, hybrid offer best savings in stop-and-go (in their current "tested" iterations). The beauty of diesel is the offroad prowess combined with good mileage cruising to and from the off-road. If you want stop-and-go optimization, buy a bike and ride to work- save the Jeep for weekends!

Mar 13th 2008 4:37PM Sweet! If it's affordable I'm there.
I'm guessing it will be highly not-legal in several states, though...
And I, for one, want torgue AND frugality in my Jeep (I also want to brew my own biodiesel, which I think would be safer in the last-gen diesels than the more refined current ones.)

IIHS studies effectiveness of roof strength: Surprise! It matters {Autoblog}

Mar 12th 2008 9:44PM They didn't test any Wranglers (interestingly the Liberty made the cut, though; so much for trying to look at real SUVs...)

I would wager that the Wrangler would have the best strength, for several reasons: 1, the roll cage is actually designed to handle a roll. 2, The relative weight is less than some of the others (in the 2 door, especially) and 3, The center stack of the cage is solid, with hefty bolts and welds to the other bars: the body and frame will probably bend first.

Would've been fun to find out how it woud do though...
