Gauntlet thrown: Corvette ZR1 laps the 'Ring in 7:26.4 {Autoblog}

Jun 28th 2008 7:09PM I am a fan of both the GTR and the ZR1, but I agree that the scrutiny the GTR faced during it's record lap time was horrible. And still to this day, we have a lot of morons out there still trying to find ways to criticize its time. It sucks that Vette fanboys are ragging on the GTR when it is the Spec V that is supposed to compete with the ZR1's numbers. You will either be in the market for a 70k car OR a 100k car. We should stop comparing the two. If the ZR1 cost 30k more, it SHOULD be faster than the base GTR. When the Spec V rolls out, then let us do the comparison. My hat is off to both Chevrolet and Nissan for building cars that beat the exotics costing a whole lot more.

2009 Nissan Maxima starting at $29,290 {Autoblog}

Jun 24th 2008 11:12AM Wow, it is amazing how much hate this car receives from the autoblog community. Give Nissan some credit for trying to break the mold and give something more "unique" looking, no matter if you like it or not. I, for one like this car's styling. If you want a RWD sports sedan, get a 3 Series or a G35 and stop comparing it to cars like these. The Maxima is a more tamed vehicle that offers a good mix of sportiness, refinement, comfort with a bunch of nice features at $29,300. I do not think that is bad at all.

Jun 21st 2008 9:56AM I actually like the new styling. I am sure for some it will take a little getting used to, but I think it's clean and masculine looking. It is a lot more streamlined than the car it replaces. I don't know why people are hating so much on the styling. I saw it in person, and it looks rather nice.

Jun 18th 2008 7:59PM I'm a long time Vette fan, but I just cannot justify paying over 100k for one, any one for that matter.
