so yeah....3 yrs ago is 3 yrs ago. What would you do differently than what they are doing today, given TODAY's reality? Are you suggesting status quo?

Jul 23rd 2008 1:37PM yeah...I was going to blast AB for presumptuous boasting, then I saw the pics....I stand corrected.
Top Gear crashes England's only Nissan GT-R press car {Autoblog}
Jul 22nd 2008 6:31PM At least we can still assume that it was treated with respect and it's damaged doing what it's designed to do: driving...unlike this one car company's currently running desperation advertising that's just unnatural to say the least...Kiss my Ass-tra?
Honda cuts Odyssey and Pilot production; makes room for more Civics {Autoblog}

yep...seconded everything you said about Honda flex....seen it first hand. Tried telling LS that several months ago, and here he is sprouting his misconception again. Honda has had this system PLANNED and tweaked for decades, but really got it going in a big way within the last 10 years or so.

Jul 21st 2008 4:59PM There is an obvious, often stated, more often ignored by fanboys, reason why companies benchmark for the ring: because it's a GREAT BENCHMARK. You benchmark against it, and you cover significant amount of road conditions in the real world. I'd rather by a car that's been "overly" benchmark against the ring than a car tuned to a manufacturer's own track.
Rumormill: Porsche Cayman S Sport {Autoblog}
Jul 21st 2008 4:33PM @RayJ: normally, it's a right on comment on Porsche. But Cayman gets an exception in my book. IMHO, Cayman's design subtleties make it one of the most distinctively beautiful cars out there - certainly the most interesting Porsche to look at this side of Carrera GT

somebody remind him about the (truly) wise guy who said: "If you think education is expensive, you should try the alternative"
@Richard Warren:
1) if you are not motivated enough to move up from your $12/hr job, you don't deserve even the $12/hr job
2) people are too fixated on the $12/hr thing....the point is, get rid of the union hiring policies and make it an open employment market....the real market wage will appear. I never understand why to work a certain job requires joining the union is not considered illegal under price collusion...the consumers pay for it in the end.

my eyes wides open. I know people who were let go, and in a month they found another job (double dipping in fact, since they still have their severances). I see people who started their own businesses in this tough time. While I won't deny it's a recession, it's still rather mild by historical measures, and is essentially being driven by high cost of energy and crazy housing market (primarily, because it restricts the credit market)
Takuma Sato back on Track {Autoblog}
Jul 11th 2008 11:30PM Taking care and socializing with fans? Wow...no wonder he's out of F1. Those drivers are usually so detached from the fans.

well, the way I look at it, it's a comparison between best of breed for each model...in that case, STARTING from the top-of-the-line, it is absolutely valid comparison.
